Thread: American Legion PDF on Illegal Immigration

This is the first time in the history of the American Legion that they have taken a stand on anything political. Here is the link to the new pamphlet they have out on illegal immigration.

Here is the finally paragraph in the 40 page booklet:

AND, BE IT FINALLY
RESOLVED, That The American Legion seize every opportunity to request
an accountability of our elected officials in implementing and enforcing
federal and international laws and treaties to eliminate the large numbers
of individuals from foreign countries entering the United States illegally
and that all candidates for public office and the Democratic and Republican
National Committees express publicly to the American people their
positions and solutions to this grave danger to our country’s stability.

This is encouraging. I had sent them a couple of emails last spring--and to the VFW--asking them to take a stand. This should be helpful for our dealings with either presidential candidate, but particilarly to McCain, since he makes much of his vet. status. It is also egregious that illegals circumvent our Selective Service registration system--and McCain should take a stand on this.

Yes I belong to the AMERICAN leigon. Great to see something from them.

I thought it was nice to see it since one of our neighbors is a member said that he didn't think they would stand against it locally, but I think he is wrong. We'll see.
