Donald Trump Wednesday told local police in California to eject a protester at an afternoon rally in Anaheim — admitting to the crowd that he cautioned officers not to hurt the heckler "for the television cameras."

"Get him out of here. Get him out. Get him out," Trump told authorities early in his speech at the Anaheim Convention Center. "Out, out, out, out! Don't hurt him."
Supporters booed as the man was escorted out by Anaheim police. He was not identified.

"See what I say?" Trump asked. "Don't hurt him. I say that for the television cameras. Do not hurt him, even though he's a bad person, folks. Bad person.

"Is there any place more fun to be than a Trump rally?" the presumptive Republican asked the cheering crowd.

The incident followed protests outside the Anaheim operation as well as on Tuesday night in Albuquerque, N.M.

Protesters there lit fires, smashed a door and threw rocks and bottles at police, who were in riot gear, outside the Albuquerque Convention Center.

Trump on Wednesday slammed the demonstrators on Twitter:

The protesters in New Mexico were thugs who were flying the Mexican flag. The rally inside was big and beautiful, but outside, criminals!
