Announcement: Lolita Bar IA Debate...
...in which I'll be participating, representing NY ICE and ALIPAC.
Here are some details,
http://indolentmick.livejournal.com/640 ... mode=reply
I invite any ALIPACers who live in the Tri-State Area, and are willing to kill an hour or so, to come out and join the spectators.
It should be a good time. Plus, no cover charge!
In other words, FREE!

It usually is.
That part about someone slapping another person after one of the debates is true, BTW. I saw it for myself.
This one should be less confrontational, hopefully.

Cool. Thanks for the update and taking on the local OBL lobbying Shapka. Good luck. Do let us know how it all turns out.

Jammed my finger-ouch!
Also, my opponent got more votes, 16-10, than me.
Although, that probably had more to do with the fact that some of my friends left before the voting or didn't show up.
Still, I thought I accomplished something.
My opponent actually said she agreed with me.

Other people said they would have supported the resolution, i.e. All Illegal Aliens Should be deported, if it was framed differently.
Oh well...
I did expose some new people to the pro-enforcement message, and think I even made some headway with a few libertarians. Plus, handed out some NY ICE cards.
Overall, it's a start.Reporting without fear or favor-American Rattlesnake

Hey, don't feel bad Shap, you stood up and had the guts to take on the opposition - in relatively 'unfriendly' turf (more or less similar here in my area, I'm sure...). Anyway, hey, you'll be even better prepared the next time around!

Well, preparation wasn't the problem.
It was just the show of hands at the end that I didn't like, but that's how these debates work-I knew the rules going in.
I was glad I got the chance to brush up on my forensic skills. Reminded me of my days on the Lincoln-Douglas Debate team.Reporting without fear or favor-American Rattlesnake
