Attention anyone with info about Newark's sanctuary law

If anyone has any information about Newark's sanctuary law for illegal aliens, I would enjoy reading about it.

Three wonderful young college students were slaughtered in part because of Newark's sanctuary law for illegal aliens.

    Thanks.

National Organizations Denounce Governments' Negligent Complicity in the Execution-Style Murders

Newark, NJ -- August 15, 2007 -- In a letter delivered today to New Jersey Governor Jon Corzine and Newark, New Jersey Mayor Cory Booker, a loose coalition of fifteen national and state anti-illegal immigration and pro-border protection groups has severely denounced the negligent complicity of New Jersey state and city governments which most likely led to a known criminal alien murdering three young persons and seriously injuring a fourth last week.

These groups believe it necessary to speak with one voice regarding such a tragic event. David Marlett, Executive Director of ProAmerica Companies, who pulled the group together, said, "This matter is far beyond the pros and cons of amnesty, fences on borders, or tamper-proof ID cards. This matter is not Republican, Democrat or otherwise partisan. This is the deep concern of all American citizens. This is about the utter failure of elected officials to use available law enforcement tools which would most likely have saved these young persons' lives. No question about it. This is about the tragic consequences of our governments losing their way, allowing sanctuary cities in defiance of federal law, and deplorably neglecting those to whom they swore an oath to protect."

Coming together for the first time to sign this letter are the following organizations:

    NumbersUSA

Federation for American Immigration Reform (FAIR)

New Jersey Citizens for Immigration Control

Americans for Legal Immigration PAC (ALIPAC)

    You Don't Speak for Me

    Minuteman Civil Defense Corp

    Choose Black America

    United Patriots of America

    Grassfire

    Patriot Border Alliance

9-11 Families for a Secure America

    US Border Watch

    Citizens for Immigration Reform

New Yorkers for Immigration Control and Enforcement

    ProAmerica Companies

    The letter reads as follows:

Office of the Governor August 15, 2007

    Trenton , New Jersey

    Office of the Mayor

    Newark , New Jersey

Dear Governor Jon Corzine and Mayor Cory Booker:

We are all too aware of the recent public slaughter of three young people in your city and state. We are furious that the primary accused murderer is an illegal alien out on bail, charged with numerous other violent felony offenses, including the raping of a child. And we are beyond anger and grief to know that your city and state could have prevented these murders had you simply availed local law enforcement with the readily available tools to protect your citizens against criminal aliens.

Instead your governments have consistently worked to hinder the implementation of the federal 287g program (which delegates certain immigration law enforcement functions to state and local law enforcement agencies). If Jose Carranza is found guilty of these most heinous of crimes, there is little question that had your governments not obstructed this enforcement tool, three young adults would be alive today, and another would not be fighting for her life from the terrible wounds inflicted during this unnecessary tragedy.

Across our nation people are demanding civil and criminal action be brought against your city and state and their elected officials for not only the blatant negligence, but the overt efforts to obstruct available law enforcement efforts. These were not simply three youths from Newark, New Jersey—they were part of America's future and hope. The bright light of promise represented by these young citizens was snuffed out by government indifference for the safety of her citizens. Carranza may have pulled the trigger, but it was your governments' active disregard of our nation's laws that encouraged this vicious predator to illegally come and to remain among us even after demonstrating his cruel nature and disregard for human life.

We certainly share that anger and frustration and pose the sad question: What will it take to get our elected officials' attention? If you were watching on that horrible night behind the Mount Vernon Elementary School, as these young adults were lined up knowing they were about to die — would you have shouted "Enough! I will do whatever I can do to stop this!"? Or would you have continued the tired mantra of "Immigration is a federal matter"? Exactly what tragedy is 'one tragedy too many' for our mayors and governors to demand 287g powers for their cities and states?

We the undersigned leaders of state and national ProAmerica, Pro-Border-Protecti on, Pro-Legal-Only- Immigration organizations (representing over 1,350,000 Americans), join in demand that you respect the people to whom you swore a solemn oath to protect. Boldly lead your city and state out of whatever political malaise, misplaced special interest pandering, and/or blatant negligence that allowed this most gruesome of public executions by an illegal alien. Mayor Booker, file for 287g certification for your city immediately; and Governor Corzine, insist all law enforcement agencies in New Jersey immediately do the same. Take a lead for not only your city and state, but for America.

Furthermore, we appeal to the people of New Jersey, indeed all Americans, to demand our federal, state and local governments work against all criminal behavior in our communities with every lawful resource available, including the 287g program. We must unite to utilize every resource to protect our lives, our communities, our states, our nation.

Our prayers are with the Harvey, Hightower and Aeriel families. God bless America.

This isn't exactly about the sanctuary policy , but the above is related, so I add it on.

I've seen several references to Newark's sanctuary resolution and New Jersey's sanctuary law, but none of them give a resolution number or code section. I hope someone can help with that.
