AUDIO: McCain says Immigration reform will be phased.

Another flip from McCain. Speaking to San Diego radio talk show host, Roger Hedgecock, McCain says that immigration reform will be phased.

Here he is feeling sorry for the employers. Wake up, John, you idiot! These are the people who are responsible for them being here in the first place, right along with our do nothing government.

We can't let John McCain frame and set the parameters of this debate.

It is so transparently obvious what he is trying to do: mollify the majority of Americans who oppose amnesty and demand that our laws are finally enforced -- while (wink, wink) assuring the open border ethnic interests and cheap labor lobby that he will indeed push for mass amnesty as soon as he can make a quicky claim that the border is "secured."

How many times must we tell McCain: NO AMNESTY, "phased" or otherwise! NO means NO.

The only "reform" that is needed is to finally enforce immigration laws.

Attrition through consistent enforcement is the humane way to deal with the majority of IAs who are here. This problem occurred over time, and can be resolved over time.

If McShame does fulfill his promise to secure the border FIRST. That will take at least 2 years. That will give us time to fight back an amnesty bill in the future.

What I'm afraid of is that Nancy Pelosi and Harry Reid will push forward Comprehensive Immigration Reform on purpose and before the border is secure, in order to put McCain on a tough spot and force him to sign the law he wrote with Sen. Kennedy.

    Your thoughts?

Not the way Juan want to do it, he just wants the four border state Governors to certify the borders are "secure", that would only take a couple of hours.

I doubt that should he be elected, McCain will wait two years until the border is secured before he moves onto his amnesty scheme (and I would argue that realistically, it will take alot longer than this to really secure the border).

As Bowman notes, McCain will use the (open) border governors "certification," combined with the sporadic (but still far from complete) enforcement against some employers that Bush has finally undertaken, along with (what little of the actual) fence that has been built, to claim that voila, the borders are "secured" so let's move onto amnesty.

All while the ethnic pressure and cheap labor groups (along with Pelosi et al) will be urging him to take this up almost immediately.

Anyone who believes that McCain will really, permanently, this time finally secure the border (and use this as the basis to vote for him), IMHO, is naive.

I would think he would ask the border patrol if the border is secure, not the Governors.
