Australian Immigration
An inconvenient truth about rising immigration
March 4, 2008
John Howard never wanted to talk about his booming immigration program. It seems Kevin Rudd’s lot doesn’t want to either. Why not? Because it just doesn’t fit.
For Mr Howard, it didn’t fit politically. Didn’t fit with the xenophobic rhetoric he used to win votes back from Pauline Hanson and to wedge Labor.
For Mr Rudd, it doesn’t fit with any of his professed economic concerns - about inflation, about mortgage stress and about climate change.
You’d hardly know it, but we’re in the biggest immigration surge in our history. According to Rory Robertson of Macquarie Bank, net immigration has exceeded 100,000 a year in 12 of the past 20 years, having exceeded 100,000 only 12 times in the previous two centuries.
The Howard government planned for an immigration program of up to 153,000 this financial year, to which you can add a planned intake of 13,000 for humanitarian reasons, and maybe 20,000 New Zealanders.
That doesn’t count an increase in the number of skilled workers on class 457 “temporary long-stayâ€

Thanks for the post Lug.
And, not a small point to be overlooked - most of Australia's immigration is within the framework of LEGAL means. In contrast, now, most of our immigration is from ILLEGAL means (border crossing + visa overstays).
For reference, the US population grew 3 million people in just the last year alone...Join our efforts to Secure America's Borders and End Illegal Immigration by Joining ALIPAC's E-Mail Alerts network (CLICK HERE)

I was just thinking, if all these people are immigrating to the US, Australia, UK, etc., by the millions, maybe they will soon empty out their countries, and then we can all go over there and start a new country, leaving them all here to fend for themselves. HAHAHHAAH. Wouldn't that be fun to watch???
Problem is, they will probably follow us. Sheesh!PRESS 1 FOR ENGLISH. PRESS 2 FOR DEPORTATION.

PhredE, you are welcome!
However the major point here is a bit different:
Australia has been celebrated as a country with a "tough" skill-points based immigration system. But the graph posted here debunks this myth.
They have triggered real avalanche by this. And this poses a great risk for the USA and other countries. You can get similar problem soon. You will be flooded by "skilled" legal immigrants.
Our elites know a lot of unholy tricks and they are learning them from each other pretty swiftly. Be aware of that.

Resource exporting countries---Australia is one---are having BOOMING economic times. Western Australia has developed a huge metals mining industry---much of it being shipped to metals hungry China. This may account for much of this dramatic growth in immigration.
What is the unemployment rate for native born Aussies? That would show if they are substantially being displaced. But the working conditions in the mining areas may be very inhospitable, too---since most Aussies live within thirty miles of the coastline."Men of low degree are vanity, Men of high degree are a lie. Oz has one of the most effective immigration enforcement systems in the Western world.
If you're caught down under illegally expect to spend at least a year in a contracted jail in Papa New Guinea before being repatriated.
