    The Bible and Immigration

    Susan Stamper Brown | Sep 01, 2015

People are tempted to blur moral lines when it comes to feel-good things like immigration. Last year, President Obama wanted us to support his views so desperately he pulled the Christianity card out of his back pocket, attempting to tie a moral equivalent to his immigration policies and the Mary and Joseph story. Obama's version included a made-up scripture: "The good book says don't throw stones in glass houses" and a couple other choice misquotes.

It would be swell to allow every Tom, Dick or Harry into the U.S., or any Mohamud, Osman, and Abil -- in the case of the recent brutal murder of a Portland, Maine man named Freddy Akoa, who was allegedly beaten to death by three Muslim immigrants. While the Portland police did not divulge a motive, as of this writing, the Portland Press Herald reports a bloodstained Bible was found next to the victims' head.

Meanwhile in other news, in mid-August an Uzbek refugee was convicted of three terrorism-related charges in Idaho for supporting a terrorist organization and gathering explosives to carry out an attack in the U.S. from his Boise apartment. In May, television station WUSA-9 reported a West African refugee was sentenced to ten years in prison for attempted rape of a woman -- just nine days after his feet touched American soil.

Currently, President Obama's nonsensical United Nations Refugee Resettlement Program grants permanent legal residency to almost 70,000 immigrants each year. You'd think after injecting Christianity into the immigration issue Obama's program would grant refuge to persecuted minorities running for their lives, like the 27 Chaldean Christians who've been locked up in an ICE detention center in California for six months now. But, oh no.

The administration seems a wee bit biased these days. WND.com reports at least 90 percent of immigrant refuges thus far are Muslim. Muslims from jihad nations. With no vetting. Expecting a positive outcome from dropping massive amounts of mostly Muslim, non-English speaking, non-vetted refugees into any town the administration pleases is a fool's errand at best and a national security threat of epic proportion.

President Obama's ignoring his biggest priority - protecting us. Before you go all "Jesus-y" on me to shame me for my views, I wonder how many of you lock your doors at night to protect your family from intruders and look through the peephole before you open the door. It's no different. The Bible says the "strangers and aliens" we are to care for should be legal, obeying the laws of the land. And they should graciously assimilate into the communities which welcome them.

We've had almost 50 cases where Muslim immigrants exited the U.S. to join terrorist groups like ISIS in Syria and al-Shabab in Somalia. Back in February, an FBI counter-terrorism top official, Michael Steinback, testified before a House Homeland Security committee admitting the U.S. is unable to vet Syrian refugees for terrorism connections.

The Obama administration approved 5,000 to 8,000 more Syrian refugees to immigrate here in 2016 despite the fact that back in June, Norwegian officials discovered several of the refuges seeking asylum in Norway under the same UN program were linked to terrorist groups. Fact is, ISIS promised to smuggle fighters into Europe and elsewhere disguised as refugees. During that Homeland Security hearing, Steinback said he's "concerned" that bringing Syrian refugees poses a clear and present danger to Americans admitting, "We don't have it under control."

So what might Jesus do, you ask? I don't know. I can tell you what I'd do. I'd probably kick around a few tables for twisting scriptures out of context and maybe call a few government officials "vipers" for betraying their oath to protect Americans. Or maybe I'd offer a trade like President Obama did for Bowe Bergdahl. Five anti-American progressives for one vetted immigrant.

Or, maybe I'd vote for Donald Trump... if he'd prove he's a conservative. But that might be a stretch.

Regarding the supposed religious requirement to give amnesty:

I am aware of Leviticus 19:33-4 and etc. Many Christians claim that this biblical passage must be interpreted as a command that we passively watch as our society is overwhelmed by a mass uncontrolled migration of foreigners. Really? What about the rest of the bible? What about the Tower of Babble (Genesis11:6-9 etc.)? What about God giving land to Abraham’s offspring (Genesis 15:18-21)? What about the“promised land” given to the Jews by God (Numbers 34: 1-29)? What about “render unto Caesar” (Mathew22:21)? And obey government laws (Romans 13:1)? These support the argument for no amnesty.

But most important is 1 Timothy 5:8 “But if any provide not for his own, and specially for those of his own house, he hath denied the faith, and is worse than an infidel.” In modern coequal language that means, “Charity begins at home.” The U.S. can not absorb most of Mexico and Latin America and stay a viable society. There are 7 billion people in the world. Most want to live here. If we give amnesty to illegal alien Hispanics, on what basis can we deny permanent residency to anyone in the world? And if we accept that idea, we would be rejecting the concept that the U.S.A has a right to exist as a sovereign nation. Some probably know it and others are simply naïve and not too smart, but Christian leaders pushing amnesty are not promoting religious faith, nor morality, nor compassion, nor God’s law. They are peddling a Marxist, secular political religion “workers of the world unite.”

Susan kicked Obama and Bill Clinton around quite well. But, it was Reagan who signed the Amnesty of the century and consequently killed Kevin with alien border crossing. She is obviously republican "conservative" but if she made any remarks about those liars, I didn't find them.

Our mainstream media and the online press fails miserably at fair and unbiased.

The 1986 Amnesty was a mistake by Reagan not a desire of his.For the ten thousandth time: Reagan was not in favor of amnesty for illegal aliens. He tried to make a compromise with the Democrat who controlled congress. He gave the Democrats amnesty in exchange for their promise to once and for all effectively control the border. The amnesty happened but predictably the Democrats reneged on their end of the bargain and they never secured the border.

If Reagan is to be criticized for anything it should be for being so naïve as to believe the Democrats could be trusted to fulfill their promise to secure the border.

The 1986 amnesty was supposed to be a one time only event and the border permanently secured.
Reagan was not in favor of amnesty he wanted the Democratsto secure the border. The huge part of criminal activities post 1986 by illegal aliens should fall squarely upon the Democrats and the RINO Republicans who have sabotaged efforts to sealed the border.

I think some Christians led by different and varied religions, while based on Christ, have some strange views about how their particular spiritual view should impact others. People are entitled to their religious views, to live their own lives according to them, but that stops at the fence of their perimeter, it doesn't pass on to their neighbor through the power of law or government, because that becomes religious authoritarianism. We don't want that in our country from any religion. We want a social consciousness to prevail in our country, one based on common sense, intelligence, loyalty to our nation and citizens, pragmatism as well as appropriate compassion and justice.

The immigration issue is based upon thievery, stealing some American's job, business or benefits, creating unfair, unhealthy and illegal competition, overpopulation causing poverty, unemployment, fiscal and economic bankruptcy in our own country, for absolutely no valid reason whatsoever, religious or otherwise.

You read my posts all the time about the FairTax. One of the important aspects about the FairTax is how it treats these phony 501 C 3 tax fraud "charities", including religious tax exempt organizations, including hospitals, Think Tanks, and so many others, who are not in any manner, shape or form handing out "charity", yet they are realizing a non-profit or non-profit tax exempt status under the present tax code that is costing our country trillions of dollars in lost revenue, lost true investment, and fairness in business enterprises. Over 10% of the US economy is funneled and diverted into these orgies.

It's time to grind that to a halt. It's time to pass the FairTax that treats these orgies the same as any other business, because that's what they are. Under the FairTax, if you sell a good or service or collect money for a good or service, it's taxed at the retail final point of sale, regardless of whether or not you're a not-for-profit or a tax-exempt outfit. If you actually give something away to someone, at no charge, no trade, no barter, then that transaction is exempt, the same as it is for any business.

That's the way it should be. That's the way it is under the FairTax. That's just one of the many reasons why the FairTax is the best tax plan ever presented to the American People.

The FairTax also penalizes illegal aliens by charging them FairTax when they shop and buy new goods and services, while protecting American citizens and legal residents with a Rebate to offset the FairTax on spending based on the number of adults and children in the household to exempt essential spending the same way personal and child deductions work on the income tax.

The FairTax also levels the playing field for domestic producers and sellers, charging imported goods and services the same FairTax charged on domestic products.

FairTax Act of 2015: HR 25 in the US House of Representatives and S 155 in the US Senate.
