ok let's make this recommendation to the "powers that be" - give the National Guard assisting in securing the borders the paint ball guns at least and let the BP use the real fire! It's my understanding that the Nat'l Guard is supposed to be working alongside the BP so at least let them do something for the time as well as practice their shooting talents
    From the Border Movie:

I will not sell my country out ~ I WILL NOT!
I'd like to see that pride back in AMERICA!!!

What! The border patrol has been reduced to paintball guns..pathetic. When agents are killed with real guns and the rest of them are wondering why they have a paintball gun in their hands, s--- is going to hit the fan.

Small welt or not, human rights activists say it is a bad idea, even for a line of defense
So they simply do not want the BP to defend themselves or this country I have to presume.

Hey I say that the BP needs to roll back the years and get in some lead shots, maybe get a few "human rights activist" as well.

Paintball guns are for games. Our border, our border agent's lives and national security are not a game.

Would the government send a soldier into Iraq armed with a paintgun--the U.S.-Mexican border is just as much a war zone as are the battlefields in Iraq.

Has the Secret Service exchanged their weapons for paintguns to guard the president, vice president, former presidents, and presidential candidates?

    Playing Paintball
Paintball Protective GearLooking for a sport that lets you wear cool cammo clothes, hide in the woods and shoot gobs of paint at your friends? Then you should be playing paintball. What could be more fun than running through the trees with a paintball gun trying to hit someone?

    Paintball - Easy and Safe
Paintball is an easy and safe sport that can be played between teams with one, two, five or even a thousand players per side. There are several different paintball games to play but the most common paintball game is "capture the flag". The object of the game is to go out and capture the other team's flag while protecting your own. Paintball fields have lots of obstacles like forts, tires or even old cars set up for players to hide behind to make the game even more challenging. It's like being part of a real-life video game!

    Paintball - Guns and Ammo
While you are trying to capture a flag in paintball, you also try to eliminate players on the other team by tagging them with a paintball fired from a special paintball gun. These paintball guns are powered by CO2 or compressed air and fire small pellets of paint. Getting hit may leave you with a bit of a welt - but it doesn't usually hurt too much. The paint washes off with soap and water so don't worry about having a permanent "scar" from playing. Games usually run from 20 to 45 minutes, depending on the number of players and the size of the paintball field the game is played on.

    Paintball - Safety Gear
The most important thing to remember when playing paintball is to always protect your eyes and face with proper paintball gear. Players must always wear special safety equipment including goggles and a facemask. You may also wear gloves, paintball armor and camouflage clothing so you can stay hidden in the trees and bushes.

    Paintball - Course and Markers
You should only play paintball games on a proper course that has markers and a referee. It can be extremely dangerous to fire a paintball gun inside your house, at school or at the mall. So if you buy any paintball equipment, only use the gear when you're playing a properly monitored game - or else you or someone else are very likely to get hurt. If you wear all the proper gear and equipment and follow all the rules - paintball is a really safe and fun sport. But if you're a big wimp who's afraid of a little paint, you can always stick to laser tag or playing checkers with your grandma.

U.S. border patrol helicopter downed by illegals

If the border agents intend to mark the attackers with paint, it is a lost cause--that would take cooperation from Mexican authorities.

    This happened in 2005.

U.S. border patrol helicopter downed by illegals

Dan Whitcomb, Reuters, via Google News, reports:

LOS ANGELES (Reuters) - A U.S. Border Patrol helicopter was forced to make an emergency landing after illegal immigrants pelted it with baseball-sized rocks, damaging a rotor, a spokesman for the agency said on Thursday.

There were no injuries as the helicopter’s pilot was able to set the aircraft down just north of the All American Canal on the border between the U.S. and Mexico, Border Patrol spokesman Michael Gramley said.

Authorities say smugglers are becoming increasingly willing to use violence against border patrol agents as their trade becomes more profitable, with smugglers able to earn about $2,000 per person.

The helicopter pilot was responding to a call for help from agents on the ground on Tuesday evening when about 10 people on the south bank of the canal began hurling large rocks at the aircraft.

“One of the rocks struck one of the three rotors and the pilot instantly felt a bad vibration as he was flying,â€

Paintball Guns? What moron came up with that idea. If you want to use non-lethal force, use rubber bullets, beanbag guns(knocks im right on their a**). paintball guns are toys and not for serious law enforcement.
Why don't you just give them water pistols while your at it

This is the stupidest idea I have ever seen. No doubt we will see Border Patrol agents get killed over this stupidity.

These paint guns ought to work real well against the AK-47s the drug cartel is using.

Yep I agree since the Border Patrol must now use Paint Guns, I can't wait to see the Secret Service protecting Dumbo with this:
