Arizona gov. signs bill targeting ethnic studies

.PHOENIX – Arizona Gov. Jan Brewer has signed a bill targeting a school district's ethnic studies program, hours after a report by United Nations human rights experts condemned the measure.

State schools chief Tom Horne, who has pushed the bill for years, said he believes the Tucson school district's Mexican-American studies program teaches Latino students that they are oppressed by white people.

Public schools should not be encouraging students to resent a particular race, he said.

"It's just like the old South, and it's long past time that we prohibited it," Horne said.

Brewer's signature on the bill Tuesday comes less than a month after she signed the nation's toughest crackdown on illegal immigration — a move that ignited international backlash amid charges the measure would encourage racial profiling of Hispanics. The governor has said profiling will not be tolerated.

The measure signed Tuesday prohibits classes that advocate ethnic solidarity, that are designed primarily for students of a particular race or that promote resentment toward a certain ethnic group.

The Tucson Unified School District program offers specialized courses in African-American, Mexican-American and Native-American studies that focus on history and literature and include information about the influence of a particular ethnic group.

For example, in the Mexican-American Studies program, an American history course explores the role of Hispanics in the Vietnam War, and a literature course emphasizes Latino authors.

giving primacy to any culture but the American culture is an attack on this nation - it is in fact secessionist!

there are plenty of place where other cultures are practiced - America is where AMERICAN is practiced!

Everything old is new again. The Mexicans are useing the exact same formula that the blacks did...race discrimination. But in the case of the blacks...they were right about it.

Governor Brewer needs to be supported and PRAISED for having the "balls" to resisit PCness and sign this law... AND THEN.... outlaw ETHNIC STUDIES that (typically) promote non-American cultures and attitudes....

UNIVISION keeps referring to this law as ANTI-IMMIGRANT and ANTI-HISPANIC..... both are lies:
a) legal immigration is NOT affected by this law
b) it appears anti-Hispanic since 75% of all illegals are in fact Hispanic, and the 25% keep a low profile, stay out of jail...

Evidently the MSM distinguishes between which Harvard graduates they choose to deem infallable, because Supt. Tom Horne is a graduate of both Harvard College (magna cum laude) and Harvard Law School (with honors). Emails of apprecitation and support can be sent to him below.

So wait. Are they going to outlaw courses like these too??? I agree outlawing courses in which they're taught that White people are somehow "evil", but to outlaw legitimate course like these that are only emphasizing the role and contributions Hispanics and other minorities have ALSO made to this country? Or is this an example of an acceptable course? The article did not elaborate.

Please get this right. ALL peoples on both these continents are "Americans." In debate they will catch you and make a fool of you on this one. They considers their culture to be the true and original "American" culture. Please refer to the laws and the culture of the U.S.A.

YOu may wish to scroll down to the section where they elaborate on what is a good white as opposed to a bad white. Obviously the NAACP has buckled to their concept of what is a good colored as opposed to a bad colored.

You may wish to study this link to be more effective against them. Otherwise they will succeed in over-ruling us and over-running us and their brand of justice will be enacted on you and your descendants for as long as you live. They even reject "Eurocentric" concepts of religion and words such as "spirituality" along with concepts like "hypocrisy" and the idea that harming others eventually causes harm to yourself spiritually? They're totally not buying it. They consider that concept to be part of the slavery of Christianity and in rejecting that they free themselves of any legal or moral liability to be fair and just to you in any way shape or form.
