Congresswoman: Stop Giving Illegals’ Host Nations Money And Spend It Here In The U.S.

One Michigan Congresswoman on Tuesday proposed the indefinite suspension of foreign assistance to Central American nations that thousands of illegal immigrants leave in the hope of relocating in the U.S.

The money the U.S would save, she argues, can instead be reinvested in those American cities that, through some combination of mismanagement and economic hardship, contain areas that have themselves come to resemble third-world countries.

According to The Detroit News, Congresswoman Candice Miller (R-Mich.) explained her idea at a hearing of the House Homeland Security Committee, calling for a reallocation of funds from Central American nations to this Nation until the illegal immigrants’ host countries show more interest in stemming their own emigration problems.

“Examples of what our USAID [money] is being used for in the Centrals include helping civil society programs, climate change and addressing the gender gap in education and the workforce. We’d be better off spending this money in the inner cities of America,” said Miller. “We can start with Detroit.

“No more money from America until they step up their own responsibilities and stop their citizens from illegally migrating to the U.S.”
USAID is the United States Agency for International Development, whose mission is to “partner to end extreme poverty and to promote resilient, democratic societies while advancing our security and prosperity.” The agency administers the disbursement of U.S. foreign aid.
Miller wrote to President Barack Obama Tuesday codifying her requests and criticizing the Mexican government for its languid attention to the immigration crisis. She also urged the Obama Administration to make it abundantly clear to the governments of the illegals’ host countries that their nationals cannot come illegally to the U.S. with an open hand.
“I also called on the administration to begin an aggressive public relations campaign in the Centrals to tell parents not to put their children in danger of paying Mexican drug cartels up to $8,000 a head to smuggle their children into the U.S.,” she explained.
“…We need to take some steps to protect America by getting our neighbor’s attention. Instead of increasing funding by hundreds of millions, as the president has called for, we need to stop foreign aid to the Centrals — immediately.”

This should have happened a long time ago. Perhaps all of these illegals could have used their "activism for "More" in their own countries and made them better for themselves instead of mooching off of the US.
