Waxman (D-CA) is defending status quo (comm Chairman)
Talking about ER care and IAs.
Saying that IAs don't qualify for Medicaid or already have insurance.
(But, he doesn't say, that they still get treated, but just get billed later - of course, whether the bill actually gets paid later - is an entirely different matter).Join our efforts to Secure America's Borders and End Illegal Immigration by Joining ALIPAC's E-Mail Alerts network (CLICK HERE)

Shays: is talking about coverage an IAs as part of the problem.
Stresses ERs.
Talks about his personal experience at an ER for 3 stitches and got a bill for $1300 from hospital.
He is doing a good job in talking about capacity, costs, ability to absorb more people vs. limiting services, etc.Join our efforts to Secure America's Borders and End Illegal Immigration by Joining ALIPAC's E-Mail Alerts network (CLICK HERE)

We call things racism just to get attention. We reduce complicated problems to racism, not because it is racism, but because it works

I don't know about you but I can't get treatment at any er in denver without waiting for hours. It's always packed with Spanish speakers that can't fill out forms and communicate with hospital staff in a timley manner. And most of them we have to pay for. I don't want to pay for someone elses problems stemed from a poor choice of lifestyle.
