In Larimer County, Colorado, new investigations by local media have pinpointed another case of dead voter fraud. The initial imvestigation into Colorado’s dead voter fraud scandal began a few weeks back, where CBS investigators found a handful of votes cast in the names of dead Coloradans months, and even years, after they passed away. The CBS4 Investigation entitled “Dying To Vote” aired last month, exposing light on the shadowed issue.

“I don’t think it was an accident,” said Larimer County Clerk and Recorder Angela Myers said of the new case. “We did find a single deceased voter, and unfortunately it was counted.” Irvin Mniszewski, 88, of Loveland, who died Sept. 6, 2011, was the identity of the fraudulent vote in Larimer County. After his death, he apparently “voted” a few weeks later, with a forged signature and documentation.

“You think someone tried to forge his signature and get an extra vote?” Myers was asked. “Potentially, absolutely someone voted for him and he was gone. I’m very surprised, and very unhappy about it.”

Meyers has forwarded the case to a local district attorney for potential criminal prosecution due to the severity of the fraud, though reassured that she believes such cases of dead voter fraud are rare. 230,000 voters registered in Larimer County, and some believe it’s inevitable there will be some fraudulent votes.
