The Death Throes of RINO Republicans

"It's time to take your muskets down from over the fireplace and dust em' off folks, cause' RINO season is now officially open!"

    --Richard Anthony

We lost. The Republican Party lost. The country lost. And I don't know if we really lost, or if we just surrendered.
And of course the mainstream media (MSM) was blaming the Republicans for everything from bad breath to the failed Hurricane Karen in the Gulf of Mexico. A survey showed that the MSM broadcast 41 stories blaming the Republicans for the government shutdown, the credit rating downgrade, the WW II Memorial barricade, etc.. And zero, zip, nada, in placing any culpability on Obama and the Democrats. And of course the media then published their poll which reflected what they had been reporting -- naturally.
The MSM did not blame the establishment RINO Republicans, such as John McCain, Pete King, Bob Corker, and Lindsay Graham, but saved their scorn for outspoken Texas Senator Ted Cruz, Senator Mike Lee of Utah, and Texas Congressman Louis Gohmert, among others. Representative Peter King (R-NY) urged his Republican colleagues to speak up about Senator Ted Cruz and "condemn him for what he did." RINO Aaron Schock of Illinois said that Speaker Boehner should, "cut out the far-right flank and work with centrist Democrats." I would suggest to Senators McCain, Corker, Alexander and McConnell that you enjoy your surrender lap, because you are done, finished, over. You have sold us out one last time, and you can take Speaker Boehner right along with you.
There were a few barren years during the first Obama administration when we Conservatives had no choice. Even a bad Republican was better than any Democrat, but those days are over. Now we have a choice.
Oh no, we aren't going to bolt the GOP and field a third party candidate, although the choices are tempting. We learned that lesson with Ross Perot. He just split the GOP vote and assured the election of Democrat Bill Clinton.
We are not going down that same "moderate" Republican path again that gave us such losers as Bob Dole, John McCain, and Mitt Romney. Oh no. This time we have competent Conservative candidates locked and loaded right within the Party -- and gaining in stature with every passing day.
In the recent government shutdown debacle, the establishment RINOS feared a greater job security threat from the wave of newly elected GOP challengers, Cruz, Lee, et al, than from their friends "across the aisle." So they were willing to accept a loss to the Obama Democrats, rather than man up and fight alongside their freshmen colleagues. They hoped to blame their defeat on the arrogance of the Conservative freshmen, rather than on themselves.
Well, it ain't working out that way. There is a whole wave of newcomers, both inside and outside of government, who realize that the self-serving Washington power structure has so jeopardized our future that if we are to survive as a nation, something must be done. That's why we have all the newly formed political organizations; the so-called "Tea Party" groups. In county after county, these organizations are outdrawing their GOP counterparts, and their increasing membership is being recruited from, you guessed it, the establishment GOP chapters.
A network political pundit described the younger Conservatives as the "Backbone of the Republican Party." Well, a strong backbone should help compensate for the other manly parts that seem to be missing from among our currently elected representatives.
