    Did the USA buy the territory of mexico?

    The USA did purchase the mexican terriory.

    I guess our president hasnt a CLUE about when the USA bought the mexican territory. It is a SHAME that he doesnt even read the history books, and he makes things and rules up as he goes.

    It purchased a large swath of Mexican territory.

    It gave the remainder, which comprised the vast majority of the country, back.

    Remember Winfield Scott marching into Mexico City?

    This "reconquista" anti-American crap is a recent innovation.

    At the time Santa Anna was regarded as an incompetent clod-which he was-and forced into exile. Ironically, he lived on Staten Island.
