Either you have a border or you don't

Exclusive: John Rocker has simple process for restoring justice to immigration policy

All right, America, are you paying attention yet?

    Seriously?

    Are you paying attention?

This isn’t some Howard Finch moment from the 1976 movie “Network,” where I’m going to tell you to raise your window and yell, “I’m as mad as hell, and I’m not going to take this anymore!”

We’re way past the moment you should be mad as hell.

    Way past that moment.

As I wrote in my book “Rocker: Scars and Strikes,” one of the primary issues of our time is whether or not our elected politicians will address the problem of illegal immigration.

No foreign army could dare occupy the United States, but it seems we are slowly being conditioned to accept illegal immigration as a problem without a solution.

If politicians, be they Democrats or Republicans, keep punting on this issue instead of finally addressing the problem, America’s future is that of the once solidly conservative now firmly liberal California – which is why the story of our taxpayer-supported Customs and Border Protection, at the direction of federal officials, flying 400 illegal immigrants from south Texas to Tucson, Arizona, and dumping them off at the Phoenix Greyhound bus station should be cause for grave concern.

There’s a simple solution to ending the problem of illegal immigration into the United States: Whenever an individual has been determined to have illegally entered our country, the person should be reported to ICE or the U.S. Customs and Border Protection and humanely deported to his or her country of origin.

Instead of incentivizing the breaking of our laws and worsening the integrity of the border between the United States and Mexico (where the majority of illegal aliens access our country), actually showing that there are consequences for illegal immigration might deter the practice.

Then, the IRS should determine the amount of money this individual received from U.S. taxpayers via any form of welfare or EBT/food stamps assistance, and an invoice should be presented to the state department of that individual’s country of origin.

This would amount to remuneration to the U.S. taxpayer for funding the illegal alien’s extended vacation to our country.

Hey, a person can dream, can’t he?

Instead of having a government that actively puts the interests of its citizens as top priority, our government works to put the interests of non-citizens far, far ahead of taxpayer concerns (right-leaning organizations even enjoy the luxury of getting targeted by the IRS).

Here’s what ABC 15 out of Phoenix reported:

A Customs and Border Protection bus dropped off a large group of undocumented immigrants at a Phoenix Greyhound bus station on 24th St. and Buckeye Thursday morning.

Many of them, walking into unknown territory.

“That’s why we came here, for our children,” said one of the undocumented immigrants at the bus station.

According to ICE and U.S. Customs and Border Protection, federal officials flew more than 400 undocumented immigrants over Memorial Day weekend from south Texas to Tucson, many of them families, most of them from Central America.

ICE says a recent surge in undocumented immigrants on the south Texas border is why they were sent to Tucson for help processing paperwork.

Cyndi Whitmore with the immigration advocacy group The Restoration Project, has helped undocumented immigrants at this bus stop before, but rarely this young.

“Since Tuesday, we’ve seen about 50 to 75, you know, mothers and fathers and children a day,” said Whitmore,”ranging from 6 months to 12 years old.”

But Kathryn Kobor with Remember 1986, a local group that has been outspoken against illegal immigration, says the fact that they had to fly so many undocumented immigrants to Tucson for help, shows us the real problem.

“That’s why these people are being flown in from south Texas, 400, because they don’t have the facilities to care for these people,” said Kobar.

Either you have a border – that the government collecting your tax dollars protects and defends – or you don’t.

It’s a cut and dried issue.

Remove emotion from the equation and you can even subtract beltway-wonkish economic talk on this and simplify down to the level of the central function of the so-called “state” – to protect the citizens who call it home.

Either you have a border or you don’t.

What is so funny is that so many people on the left, liberals who cheer-lead for blanket amnesty of untold tens of millions and advocate further illegal immigration into our country, continuously claim that those who oppose their viewpoint are nativists, bigots, or even racists.

But those 400 illegal immigrants – excuse me – “undocumented” immigrants federal officials flew from Texas to Arizona weren’t dissuaded to enter our country out of the same fears liberals and those in support of amnesty would claim opponents of such civilized, progressive views espouse.

These individuals, traveling as far away as Honduras to sneak across our border illegally, believe it is their right to come to United States and participate in their share of the American Dream.

Well, as citizens of the United States of America, it is our right to believe our elected officials and government agencies should put the interests of us ahead of all others.

Either you have a border or you don’t.

If you distill this sentence down further, it reads: either you have a country or you don’t.

My fellow Americans, are you paying attention yet?

If not, don’t be surprised to look around soon and realize there isn’t much of an America left to defend.

Each time the word amnesty is spoke of by our leaders the border is flooded with illegals the question is why those at top power level do this, money gain or simply they wish to destroy America, no country can survive uncontrolled borders, the very same people who want open borders are the type who live in gated or guarded communities sending a clear signal what they want for us is very different then what they wish for themselves.
I'm old with many opinions few solutions.

This tells how it began in 1986, that amnesty was not in Americas or American's interest. Americans have let Washington take us to this point, although it is getting so very close to being irreversible. I began talking about this in the 1970's, I opposed the '86 amnesty, Ive written and called multiples of Congresspeople and presidents multiple of times. I understand the writer's, John Rocker, frustration with America not listening, and they still do not sufficiently believe to rise up and demand being served as if they are Americans, with some exceptions.

Patriots need to connect illegals with job losses.

IMO we should begin with a campaign to implement universal e-verify. That would eliminate the jobs magnet.
