(The Blaze/AP) – Attorney General Eric Holder said Tuesday he opposes a new photo ID requirement in Texas elections because it would be harmful to minority voters and told the NAACP in Houston that he will do everything he can to make sure the law doesn’t stand.

He added the Justice Department “will not allow political pretexts to disenfranchise American citizens of their most precious right.”

Under the law passed in Texas, Holder said that “many of those without IDs would have to travel great distances to get them — and some would struggle to pay for the documents they might need to obtain them.”

“We call those poll taxes,” Holder added spontaneously, drawing applause as he moved away from the original text of his speech with a reference to a fee used in some Southern states after slavery’s abolition to disenfranchise black people.

The 24th amendment to the constitution made that type of tax illegal. Holder insinuated the voter ID laws were racist numerous times throughout his speech.

“I will not allow the Texas Voter ID law to happen,” said Holder.

    KTRH in Houston has more:
During his short address, America’s top cop took aim at The Lone Star State saying that the law to ensure elections are secure in Texas was “absurd.” Holder received cheers saying that the ID law hurts minorities and that politics is the driving force behind the issue.

Not surprising but Eric Holder, the first African American attorney general of the United States, was received extraordinarily well by the delegates at the NAACP. After he wrapped-up his remarks, the NAACP delegates passed an “emergency resolution” that resolved the organization and its members to “strongly support” the attorney general’s efforts, especially with regards to voting rights.

As the attorney general left the stage, he was sent off with a standing ovation and chants of “Holder! Holder! Holder!”

KTRH was also able to capture this exclusive video from Holder’s NAACP address:

Patriots, we must NOT let the Liberals- DNC, MSM and the R.I.N.O.s- win the Race War, see the EXCERPT below-
Racist NAACP Requires Photo ID In State Sued Over Voter ID

Yes you read the headline right. The RNAACP (Racist National Association for the Advancement of Colored People) required the media to present government issued photo identification and and second form of identification in order to enter the NAACP National Convention at the George R. Brown Convention Center in Houston, TX to hear Attorney General Eric “Stonewaller” Holder.

Why is this such a big deal? The big deal is that Holder’s DOJ and the NAACP have explicitly gone after voter ID laws, even suing states, like Texas, because they claim that it is not fair and discriminatory. While I understand that this is not a time for voting, the claims of both the DOJ and the NAACP have been that it is a right to vote. They have believed this so strongly that they took it up with the United Nations.

Well let me educate them a bit. There is also a right to freedom of the Press. It’s called the First Amendment.

Yep, they're above the law and yet we have to obey their made up laws. With those three, we have no need of a U.S. Congress!

We have a government of radicals, Col. West said a few days back that he believed congress had 60-70 communist in there group now many may not believe themselves as such but there voting disdain for the Constitution makes me believe otherwise, doesn't matter extreme left, socialist, Marxist's, communist or a mix of all that is what we have in DC, radicals who wish to change the Constitution, culture and eliminate capitalism.

Unfortunately, southern states who practiced open segregation prior to the passage of the civil rights act are still under the DOJ's thumb when it comes to ANY change in voting laws. Any state under the ruling that wishes to change or modify its election laws or process must either get direct approval from DOJ or from the Federal District Court that has jurisdiction in that state. Never mind that the Supreme Court has already ruled that requiring voter ID is Constitutional. Holder is using a fine point of law to put off voter ID implementation in the southern states until after the 2012 elections. He knows that if he goes to court he will lose, but that is not the point. The point is to foster as much voter fraud this year as possible because he knows, and Obama knows, that is the only way Obama wins, especially in Florida.
