You're absolutely correct Nightowl. There are those of us though who have the attitude of lets nip this in the bud before it gets that bad. But you are correct about things having a negative effect before people do anything. Otherwise it takes a ton of tnt to get them off their backsides to do anything.
The biggest trouble is, the energy they use, and the direction they usually turn to, is the wrong ones.

It is a bit like the movie The Matrix in that when you're awakened to how upside-down and inside-out they've turned things, it's very distressing and you feel helpless. I felt that way too. We all feel that way when our eyes are opened to what they've done to our nation and our world. The feeling doesn't go away. It comes back every time you read of a new outrage. But in a way that's good, because it helps motivate you to action.
You can reduce the feeling of helplessness by doing as much as you can to fight the Open Borders Lobby. If you feel totally overwhelmed, taking a break from things for a few days helps too.All that is necessary for evil to succeed is that good men do nothing. -Edmund Burke

Major economist predicts total meltdown under Obama
He predicted the stock market crash of 1987, the Asian currency crises of 1997, and the fall of the Soviet Union. Now he predicts that by Christmas of 2012 America will see mass riots, mass inflation, and tax rebellions.

[quote="Nightowl"]I have said this before on other sites and maybe this one as well.
What will have to happen for the majority of people to realize the gravity of this situation, is something will have to happen to them personally. People in this day and age ignore their surroundings until their surroundings hit them square in the face. This is the time they take notice.
With the way the economy is right now, and destined to get worse in the very near future, all the people who have fought us at every turn may be the next ones losing their jobs. When this happens, they will start to see the light, they will see the problem with finding a job, they will become frustrated, desperate, and they may even see someone who may not speak English working in a job they now feel they must have in order to survive, thus becoming more aware of the problems at hand. It should have never come to this point, but I will relish each and every minute watching the opponent scramble in fear to survive and in turn, join us.
But unfortunately, I honestly feel there will be someone, somewhere, who will take a much more drastic stand. I also honestly feel a drastic stand is what it will take to bring this issue to the light of ALL American's.
It matters not who is or was POTUS, the problems remain the same, and we must take a stand and correct the wrongdoing done to us all. Every year we say we need to rally, march in the streets, but never do. There are how many anti-illegal immigration sites out there? Yet we can't combine them for the good of the same cause.
I am in a relatively liberal city whose western border is California. Nevada is severely overlooked in most stats and data regarding illegal immigration, mainly because the casino industry somewhat relies on it and local officials hide it. Greed rules here in my parts. People here are afraid to voice opposition to the illegal alien, open-border movement. They simply hide their true feelings and it's come to the point of forcing a conversation just to draw them out. I am in the minority as far as this issue is concerned (outspoken), so I spend time everyday posting on run of the mill forums and blogs all over the US for the sole purpose of educating idiots.
I prefer the rough road.
I will bait then fight the worst supporter until they give up and can show no credible source to back-up their argument. Then I will drown them with credible facts and figures that show them to be "untruthful and dishonest" in their portrayal of “theirâ€<div>“There is no longer any Left or Right, there is only Tyranny or Liberty ”</div>

Great thread. I was talking to someone - a liberal - recently and she said she was a socialist and that her friends consider themselves as communist/socialist and thinking that is a good thing.
I told her I was against communist/socialists policies and have no interest in leaders like Stalin and Hitler. I believe in Individual Freedom and Liberty. I am not a follower of the common and collective masses.
It worries me to hear (supposedly smart) people talking about communism as a good thing. What planet are they from and where to go to escape from being part of their crazy plans to save the world.
Anyone hear about the Red list - Blue list?<div>GOD - FAMILY - COUNTRY</div>

Maybe we took it away from the Democrats so they wouldn’t hurt themselves. I guess it doesn’t mater now, besides the Commie Red fits them far-far better. (As you just noted)
What about this Red and Blue lists? (Maybe a link?)<div>“There is no longer any Left or Right, there is only Tyranny or Liberty ”</div>

Giving them the color back would be common sense, and that is something that is tterribly lacking in our modern times.

I went to a gun show this weekend here and the crowds were unbelievable! Already there are beginning to be shortages and backlogs on weapons of all types. The sentiment of the people there, both men and women was almost universally of the same tenor...ruck up and strap in..we're in for a rough ride.
