    Gilmore drops presidential candidacy
By Dionne Walker, Associated Press Writer | July 14, 2007

RICHMOND, Va. --Former Virginia Gov. Jim Gilmore ended his long-shot campaign for presidency on Saturday.

The 57-year-old Republican said in a written statement that his late start, near the end of April, and the front-loaded primary schedule "have made it impractical to continue."

John McCain is so stubborn, but he needs to be next for sure. I saw a piece about him on Glenn Beck tonight where they were trying to set the record straight that it wasn't his stance on Iraq that hurt him.
