We have already given illegals a chance. What did they do in return?

To show their gratitude....they marched in our streets 'demanding' more freebees, they burned our flag, they trashed our towns, they stole identities, they forged documents, they killed and raped, they drained our social systems.

    I would say that's enough.

Well, Rome, seeing this is your first post, I'd like to welcome you to ALIPAC, as I try to do with each new recruit I come upon, but for some strange reason, right now, I can not.

Secondly, I plan to attend the first Cleveland, Tennessee anti-illegal immigration rally I hear about. Maybe I'll see ya over on the "other side".

Oh, yea.... my flag will be red, white, and blue.

Sam - Make that three. I understand that many people on these boards do not understand what American Indians are all about.

In general --- People who have not grown up in this culture have no true idea of what we're all about. So, please, let me give you a "quick course".

First of all - many American Indians (full blood or not) are very opposed to illegal immigration.

Second, on the other hand, there are some American Indians (full blood not not) who are thinking that the new "Natives" are now getting their just desserts for "invading" this country.

Third, there are members of my tribe (mostly the Elders), and many other tribes, who are taking a "sit back and wait" attitude.

Hatred, ignorance, anger, stupidity, and racism, crosses all boundries, religions, ethnicities, and genders. These negative feelings are not "owed" by any set group of individuals.

The American Indian who posted the "letter to the Editor" (by the way - Thompson is as much an American Indian name as "Gray Eagle") obviously falls into the Second category listed above.

Even tho I completely disagree with her views, I think it is in poor taste to slam her heritage.

Disagree with her views all you want!!! But her "blood lines" are not at issue here, any more than the "blood-lines" of mixed race vs. full-blood Blacks.

Well not knowing too many Native American Indians, I don't know much on there immigration stance... I do know that business owners (which alot are) would be for open borders and illegal aliens due to cheap labor, just like any other greedy business owner! I apologize if I upset any Native Indians or any others here, as I see that we are all working for the same cause, to have our laws enforce, protect Americas sovereignty and our freedoms as Americans! We all have a common trait here, we are American!!! And proud to be one too!!!

I agree! Send ALL illegal aliens, not just illegal Mexicans, back to wherever they came from. Also stop all immigration for about 10 years, and build the damn fence!

Too bad this woman doesn't bother to complain about the 6 tons of trash that is dumped by illegals every day on the Tohono O'Odham Reservation on the Arizona border.

It is a "border security crisis that has caused shocking devastation of our land and resources. ...illegal immigration levels have sky–rocketed causing a flood of crime, chaos and environmental destruction on our Reservation," Ned Norris, Jr., Vice–Chair Of The Tohono O'Odham Nation told the Senate.

The reservation has become "a prime avenue of choice for undocumented immigrants [criminal illegal aliens] and drug traffickers traveling into the United States. 1,500 immigrants illegally invade the Reservation daily, making it the "busiest corridor of illegal immigration in America

"The Nation's longest international border of any Tribe in the United States has created an unprecedented homeland security crisis for America,"

... There are 160 illegal passageways along the 75 mile shared border with Mexico – in 36 locations there are no barriers at all.

Using traditional Native American tracking techniques, these four Senior Customs Patrol Officers are personally responsible for hundreds of thousands of pounds of marijuana being interdicted on the Tohono O'Odham reservation in southern Arizona.

The trespassers have trashed the reservation with garbage and litter, creating a sanitation catastrophe.

Six tons of trash per day is littered on the Reservation, resulting in 113 open pit dumps that need to be cleaned up.

The Nation, struggling for financial survival, diverted $7 million from tribal revenues to try to maintain the sovereignty of the reservation from 2001 until June 2004.

The Nation blames the federal border security policy that concentrated on sending available agents and assets to close down key points of entry such as San Diego (CA), Yuma (AZ), and El Paso (TX)....

"Tribal members live in fear for the safety of their families and their properties. Homes are broken into by those desperate for food, water and shelter.

The 28,000–member Nation fights hoards of illegal immigrant [illegal alien] drug and human traffickers, robbers, and rapists.

The Nation's seventy–one member police force apprehended 71,700 illegal immigrants in 2002 and seized 65,000 pounds of illegal narcotics.

In 2003, police confiscated over 100,000 pounds of illegal drugs. From October 2003 to June of 2004, 180,000 pounds of narcotics were seized. 130,000 pounds of marijuana were seized by the end of 2004.

The police enforcement efforts cost $3 million dollars through mid 2004, but a bigger cost is the corruption of Indian teens and other tribe members....

In 2002, 4,300 vehicles were used for illegal drug and immigrant smuggling. A total of 517 stolen vehicles were recovered on tribal land.

From January 2003 to June 2004, 2,675 abandoned vehicles were found on the reservation with 308 stolen vehicles used for criminal activities en route to Mexico, according to Norris....

Our Tohono O'Odham Indian citizens are being psychologically, physically, and financially devastated while politicians agonize over how to get elected and big business figures out how to line its pockets with cheap labor.

Your so right wolfbaby Being the victim of a crime commited by an illegal, as some of you may know. Its not about race, creed or color. Its about ILLEGAL What has happened to my family and the countless other families of illegal crime is against our constitutional rights and needs to be stopped. If she feels that way, then maybe she should deport with them and lift the burden off the shoulders of the rest of us who dont want or need them here.
Do They understand the word ILLEGAL????

This is always what I'm afraid of. BUT, I'd rather give all the land back to the Native American tribes (those that were N. of the Rio Grande that is) than hand it over to Mexico. It was never Mexico's land, it was the Native American's land, right?

The Tribal Nations would never allow illegal immigrants onto their land would they?

Anyway, I hope I didn't offend you with any of this.

It's hard to know any more. I have relatives in my own family who are completely opposed to illegals being here. They're almost rabid about it. But, yet, they don't seem to want to get ACTIVE about the problem.

One of my 3rd cousins is married to a member of the Tohono O'odham nation. I hear stories about how it's not safe to be out at night because of the rapes and even houses get broken into.

But one thing that needs to be understood - American Indians are very clannish, and very private. They don't like interference from "outsiders" regardless of the skin color. But that also leads them to keep things to themselves, that maybe should be in the public view. So the rest of America doesn't hear about the terrible things that happen.

Please understand, most American Indians don't leave the reservation (even tho, in my limited experience, these places are horrible), because they have such strong family ties. That is their whole world.

I sometimes think that the majority feel that as long as they're not bothered on their reservations, they really don't care about what happens in the rest of the country. But, then again, the rest of the country really doesn't care about what happens on reservations either, so I guess it's a wash.

I grew up with very traditional grandparents (and not on a reservation), so I don't understand why anyone would want to stay there.

If push comes to shove, I truly don't know what they'll do!!
