While touting itself as a 'nonpartisan' source for information verification, Factcheck.org is actually anything but factual. The organization is a front-group for Leftwing causes and has ties to domestic terrorist Bill Ayers and his political protege Barack Obama.

In 2008 prior to the Presidential election, writer Stanley Kurtz uncovered troubling information concerning Factcheck, Bill Ayers, and Barack Obama:

"When Obama made his first run for political office, articles in both the Chicago DefenderHyde Park Heraldfeatured among his qualifications his position as chairman of the board of the Chicago Annenberg Challenge, a foundation where Ayers was a founder and guiding force. and the Obama assumed the Annenberg board chairmanship only months before his first run for office, and almost certainly received the job at the behest of Bill Ayers. During Obama's time as Annenberg board chairman, Ayers's own education projects received substantial funding. Indeed, during its first year, the Chicago Annenberg Challenge struggled with significant concerns about possible conflicts of interest. With a writ to aid Chicago'spublic schools, the Annenberg challenge played a deeply political role in Chicago's education wars, and as Annenberg board chairman, Obama clearly aligned himself with Ayers's radical views on education issues. With Obama heading up the board and Ayers heading up the other key operating body of the Annenberg Challenge, the two would necessarily have had a close working relationship for years (therefore "exchanging ideas on a regular basis")."

However, when one delves a bit further into the organization's history and political ties, it is clear that there is a definite connection with Leftwing causes. Pajamas Media uncovered this information in 2008:

"Barack Obama and the unrepentant terrorist Bill Ayers have worked closely together on education reform since 1995, and possibly since 1987. Obama has obfuscated and minimized this association in his public statements and on his website. Why the cover-up? We don’t know, since we aren’t sure what is being concealed.

"It’s becoming known as the Annenberg Challenge cover-up and it’s become big news since the McCain campaign highlighted it in a press release late Wednesday."

Here are the facts, then, about Factcheck.org:

1. The Annenberg Foundation gave money to fund Factcheck at the University of Pennsylvania.

2. The Annenberg Foundation gave money to domestic terrorist Bill Ayers to start the Chicago Annenberg Challenge.

3. Ayers recruited Obama to chair the newly funded Chicago Annenberg Challenge, which doled out multi-millions of dollars per year in grants to various causes and organizations. Obama served as Chair of the Chicago Annenberg Challenge from 1995 to 1999.

4. One of the organizations to which the Chicago Annenberg Challenge gave millions of dollars was ACORN.

5. Factcheck was specifically chosen by Obama to run interference for him in the Presidential eligibility controversy.

As this report notes,

"Factcheck.org is part and parcel of the Annenberg Foundation. Factcheck was also chosen by the Obama campaign as the arbitrar of whether Obama’s birth certificate, which purportedly proves he’s a citizen of the United States, is authentic.

"We were mostly uninterested in the birth certificate controversy until a recent court case in Philadelphia caught our attention.

"On August 24, a prominent Democrat and attorney in Pennsylvania, Philip J. Berg, filed a lawsuit in U.S. District Court against Obama and the DNC. Berg’s suit claimed that Obama is not a natural born citizen of the United States is therefore ineligible to run for President. On September 24, rather than show up with a copy of Obama’s birth certificate, attorneys for Obama and the DNC filed a motion to dismiss."

Thus, the fact that Factcheck is part and parcel of the Annenberg Foundation and used by Barack Obama to conduct a very partisan campaign to discredit those who would question Obama's actions, automatically disqualifies the organization from being a 'non-partisan, unbiased' source of factual information.

Factcheck cares very little about facts but is keenly interested is being a shill for Leftwing causes.
