Main stream media will not change. They are talking about the top 3. Had Tancredo finished 2nd they would probably be talking about the winner. If Tancredo had finished first they would be talking about how insignificant the straw poll is.

    I agree!!!! GOOOOO TOM!!!!

Avenger, I watched fox this morning and there was NO mention of Tom at all. You are right, MSM has decided who we should vote for, so they are not reporting on the ones that America wants and NEEDS. The good thing is we are not fooled by this and we can get our candidate to finish line by backing him and NOT giving up and NOT giving in.

Oh ya, MSNBC ugh they don't report anything. They only had 900,000 watch the Dem debate. NOBODY watches MSNBC.

Yup, I've read several MSM articles on the Iowa Straw Poll song-and-dance that didn't mention Tancredo's strong showing, but some have, including this excerpt from Voice of America:

But some lesser-known candidates scored well in the event, giving them a possible boost for future contests. Former Arkansas Governor Mike Huckabee came in second, with a little over 18 percent of the vote, Kansas Senator Sam Brownback was third, with just over 15 percent and Colorado Congressman Tom Tancredo took fourth place, with 13.7 percent.

So let's give Tancredo some more $$ to help him carry our message forward!

Yeah, I just saw CNN making a huge deal about Huckabee finishing 2nd, and possibly entering "the top teir." They showed the top three in the poll, mysteriously stopping right there -- NO mention of Tancredo, and no mention that he only had 626 fewer votes than Huckabee.

In terms of the print media, it's kind of a mixed bag regarding Tancredo's 4th place showing, some not mentioning him at all, but other articles that do:

Excerpts from a couple of articles that do mention Tancredo:

Romney wins Iowa straw poll, Tancredo 4th
    Last updated: 8/12/2007 8:14:48 AM

AMES, Iowa (AP) - Former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney won an easy and expected victory in a high-profile Iowa Republican Party Straw Poll on Saturday, claiming nearly twice as many votes as his nearest rival.

Romney had been expected to win the test because he spent millions of dollars and months of effort on an event that was skipped by two of his major rivals.

Romney scored 4,416 votes to outpace former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee who had 2,587 votes. Kansas Sen. Sam Brownback was third with 2,192 votes. Rep. Tom Tancredo of Colorado was fourth with 1,961 votes. Texas Rep. Ron Paul, who has developed an Internet-driven following, came in fifth with 1,305 votes.

    ----------------------

Romney, the former Massachusetts governor, got 31.6 percent of the more than 14,000 ballots cast, compared with 18.1 percent for second-place finisher Mike Huckabee, the former governor of Arkansas; 15.3 percent for Kansas Sen. Sam Brownback; 13.7 percent for Colorado Rep. Tom Tancredo; and 9.1 percent for Texas Rep. Ron Paul, who rounded out the top five in the 11-man field.

The non-binding poll on Iowa State University's campus was the equivalent of a political state fair for Republicans, as the candidates chartered hundreds of buses and provided food, T-shirts and entertainment -- as well as the $35-per-person admission fee -- for thousands who entered the state GOP's massive fundraiser...

In many respects, the event appeared to be on a much smaller scale than the last straw poll eight years ago. The 14,302 total ballots cast were down substantially from the 23,685 cast in 1999, potentially reflecting the unsettled field of Republican candidates as well as what polls have shown to be a large bloc of Iowa GOP voters undecided and dissatisfied with the slate of contenders.
