Huddersfield grooming victim: Nothing has changed, abuse still going on

by Westmonster

One of the victims of the Huddersfield child sex abuse gang has said that she believes abuse is still going on in the town and that nothing has changed.

20 men were convicted of offences ranging from rape to inciting child prostitution. 15 girls as young as 11 were abused between 2004 and 2011. The ringleader of the sick gang alone was convicted of 54 separate accounts, including 22 rapes with 11 different girls.

And now one of the victims has revealed to Sky News how the abuse began: “They used to buy you gifts, give you cigarettes, alcohol, cannabis.

“And then I was in a relationship with one of them, and then it’s like you start getting passed around to their friends and stuff.

“Some days you’re waking up and you don’t even know how you’ve ended up in certain places.

“You can’t remember what happened to you. It was just a circle.”

Asked if she believed it was still going on, the anonymous victim responded “yeah”.

And when quizzed as to if there there has been any change at all, she said: “No I don’t think there has.”

She laid out how the ages of those abusing young girls ranged from those in their 50s to their 20s, with the older men ‘passing it down’ to the younger generation.

“History will keep on repeating itself”. That simply cannot be allowed to happen.
