    Idaho Debates Arizona Law

This is what you get when you click into the link below. There is a lot of interesting stuff here. There is a live debate between my state Senator Mike Jorgenson and Leo Morales, the Director of ICAN. There are two different videos. The first one was broadcasted live on our Idaho Public tv channel, and the rest of the show was only shown on the web. Also in this list is the new Arizona law, plus other good stuff.

    Arizona's Immigration Law
Idaho State Senator Mike Jorgenson is tickled to death about a new immigration law in Arizona. That law would compel local law enforcement officials to confront individuals whom they suspect of being illegal immigrants and demand proof of citizenship or immigration status. Jorgenson would like to see a similar law in Idaho.

Leo Morales, Immigration Policy Director for the Idaho Community Action Network, says Arizona's law sets a dangerous precedent. He calls for national immigration reform.

In this edition of Dialogue, Jorgenson and Morales face off over immigration policy and the role states have in this ostensible federal responsibility.

Get it done Mike Jorgenson! It's a shame all the agriculture companies and dairy farmers in the southern part of Idaho have so much clout and use illegals for their profit margins. Just once I'd like to see the panhandle push through some good legislation.

Northern Idaho has become a tourist haven and will soon have an increased share of illegals working in the various tourist venues along with gardening, etc for the retirement population who have discovered North Idaho. Keep an eye on your Home Depot.

Hopefully the influx of illegals will be nipped in the bud by laws like Arizona's SB 1070.
