Illegal immigrant charged with sex abuse in Boaz

BOAZ, Ala. (WAFF) - The Boaz Police Department says officers arrested 25-year-old Felipe Miguel on charges of sex abuse against a child Thursday.

Police also say they’ve learned that Miguel is an illegal immigrant from Guatemala that has only been in the country for three months.

According to Boaz police, the incident took place on East Mann Avenue in Boaz, police also say the victim knew the offender.

Police say the case is still under investigation and that more charges could be filed.

Miguel is being held in the Marshall County jail on a $150,000 bond.
