He's very lucky he was offered $10,000. He needs to take the money and run. I don't think he understands that you can't f with the government.

They keep playing out this story over and over, trying to show how heartless the Americans are and hopeing we will give his money back. Sorry dude, you broke the law and it cost you $49,000. Welcome to America.
IF I WERE THE JUDGE I WOULD REDUCE THE OFFER BY $1000 DOLLARS EVERYTIME HE REFUSED THE OFFER. $9000, $8000, $7000,.....

The reason he was able to save the money was because he was living off our tax payers money. The heck with him.Its our money he stole from us.It should be used to help clean up the mess he left behind in our desert.

I'd rather see the money used to secure our border. All such monies confiscated from illegal immigrants should be used to secure our border or to enhance enforcement of our immigration laws.

I beg to differ. It is totally possible tha this man who doesn't know US laws would think he could take all that money with him. It would seem an experienced criminal would know the basics, as he could easily have sent the money out of the country a little at a time. Remember this guy shared rent with 6 or 7 other guys, doesn't own a car, and has no children to take care of. Do the math... Ijust don't want us to lose focus of the problem -illegal immigration. No need for personal attacks on this man...

This man committed so many crimes. First he wasn't even supposed to be in this country...he BROKE OUR LAWS by coming over our border illegally. Next, he wasn't supposed to be working here...he was illegal and probably used a fake SS card. And third, he tried to sneak the money onto an airplane and out of the country (also illegal if the amount is over $10,000).

I say let's give that $59,000 to Sheriff Joe so he can buy more tents!

    I wonder...

a). How is the lawyer going to be paid?

    and/or

b). If the lawyer is provided as part of state criminal defense attorneys (eg. is taxpayer supported)... now, that would be the financial double-whammy, now wouldn't it?

    (1) Violating the immigration law is a CRIME
    (2) Forging documents is a FELONY CRIME
    (3) Passing forged documents is a FELONY CRIME
    (4) Stealing ID is a FELONY CRIME
    (5) Using stolen ID is a FELONY CRIME
    (6) Re-entering the country after being deported is a FELONY CRIME

Federal law states that it is a FELONY CRIME for any person or corporation to willingly aid and abet illegal aliens that either enter the US or remain here unlawfully.
    Section 8 USC 1324(a)(1)(A)(iv)(b)(iii)

    INVADE:
    1. to enter like an enemy: Locusts invaded the fields
    2. to enter as if to take possession: To invade a neighbor's home
    3. to enter and affect injuriously or destructively, as disease: Viruses that invade the bloodstream.
    4. to intrude upon: To invade the privacy of a family.
    5. to encroach or infringe upon: to invade the rights of citizens.
    6. to permeate: The smell of baking invades the house.
    7. to penetrate; spread into or over: The population boom has caused city dwellers to invade the suburbs

    ALIEN:
    1) a person who is not a citizen of the country.
    2) in the United States any person born in another country to parents who are not American and who has not become a naturalized citizen. There are resident aliens officially permitted to live in the country and illegal aliens who have sneaked into the country or stayed beyond the time allowed on a visa.

    ILLEGAL:
    Unlawful; illegitimate; illicit; unlicensed.
Illegal, unlawful, illegitimate, illicit, criminal can all describe actions not in accord with law.
Illegal" refers most specifically to violations of statutes.
    Illegal is "prohibited by law."

    Illegal Immigration is a Crime:

Under Title 8 Section 1325 of the U.S. Code, "Improper Entry by Alien," any citizen of any country other than the United States who:

-Enters or attempts to enter the United States at any time or place other than as designated by immigration officers; or
-Eludes examination or inspection by immigration officers; or
    -Attempts to enter or obtains entry to the United States by a willfully false or misleading representation or the willful concealment of a material fact;
    has committed a federal crime.

Violations are punishable by criminal fines and imprisonment for up to six months. Repeat offenses can bring up to two years in prison. Additional civil fines may be imposed at the discretion of immigration judges, but civil fines do not negate the criminal sanctions or nature of the offense.
See: Unlawful entry a crime since '29 - Rocky Mountain News -- June 11, 2006

In addition to sneaking into the country in violation of the immigration law that requires that aliens be documented for legal entry (referred to as "entry without inspection -- EWI"), others enter with legal documentation and then violate the terms on which they have been admitted by taking jobs that are not authorized or overstaying the authorized period of stay in the country.

"Any alien who is present in the United States in violation of this Act or any other law of the United States is deportable."

Proving once again that illegals don't want to become citizens, they just want to reap the benefits and then take the money back to their country.

I say let's give that $59,000 to Sheriff Joe so he can buy more tents!
