Immigration Reform: The Truth Challenged and Useful Idiot Sen. Marco Rubio

Marinka Peschmann (Bio and Archives) Tuesday, April 16, 2013

Immigration is back in the headlines this week. ABC News is reporting the senators from the bipartisan “Gang of Eight” are expected to unveil their comprehensive immigration bill, on Tuesday. Reportedly the bill is about 1,500 pages in length and “includes a pathway to citizenship for many of the 11 million undocumented immigrants living in the U.S.”

Like ObamaCare, it appears the bill will have to pass before anyone knows what is really in it. Meanwhile Sen. Marco Rubio (R-Fla.) appeared on the Sunday talk shows to push the Gang of Eight’s immigration bill. Let’s look at what Sen. Rubio said and why he will go down in history as a useful idiot if this bill becomes the law of the land.

First, during his appearances the viewers were told there that there are 11 million illegal aliens in America. That’s a fantasy number. Nobody knows how many illegal aliens are in America because there is no place to count them—besides, if there were such a place, illegal aliens would not go and be counted. Rubio is wrong to mislead the public with this false information. The truth is the borders have been unsecured for decades, especially since President Ronald Reagan last passed amnesty in 1986 with the promise to secure them. That’s over 27 years of open borders.

A wild guess would be closer to the number of Americans currently on food stamps. That would easily top over 40 million people especially when the illegal aliens start bringing their family members into America. Meanwhile America’s unemployment rate has dropped because Americans have stopped looking for work in some cases because there are no jobs.

It gets worse. Sen. Rubio, defending his immigration bill, said on ABC’s This Week, “The second thing is we don’t want a rush on the border. We don’t want people to think, well, they are still doing this enforcement stuff, but at some point in a few years, they’re going to actually start some process, so let me sneak in now to take advantage of it.”

Who is advising Sen. Rubio? Anyone who has been paying attention knows there has been a rush on the borders since the Gang of Eight and President Barack Obama started talking about a path to citizenship for the illegals. It’s happening while you are reading this. As the Daily Mail (UK) reported on Saturday: “We’re being inundated’: Vigilante Group uses secret cameras to record the flow of illegal immigrants across the border.” It’s outrageous for Sen. Rubio to mislead the public to push his bill when he is part of the problem.

Furthermore, as Sen. Rubio pushes for a “tough” process to legalize millions of illegal aliens, he is ignoring the elephant in the room: the United States and Citizenship & Immigration Services (USCIS), a lawless, arbitrary, anti-legal immigration agency. As I reported, in Crime & Incompetence: Guide to America’s Immigration Crisis, the USCIS is too incompetent to process legal immigrants properly let alone millions of illegal aliens.

One not need look any further than the EB-5 job creating category where for over 23 years America’s immigration agency has failed to fill the annual 10,000 quota due to mind bending incompetence while legal immigrants sit in backlogs for decades (Chapter 12: Folly of the Green Card for Investor Idea). Yet Sen. Rubio, whose office has had my book for over a month (refused to return my phone calls and answer common sense questions) thinks an agency that is riddled with crime (federal officials taking bribes—sex, cash, jewelry in exchange for legal status) and incompetence can magically, safety, and effectively process millions of illegal aliens.

Sen. Rubio, taking a page from Sen. John McCain (R-Ariz.), also claims currently there is a defacto-amnesty which is why America needs a pathway to citizenship. The truth is there is a defacto-amnesty—thanks to President Obama’s policies which is why Immigration and Custom Enforcement (ICE) agents have filed a lawsuit against Department of Homeland Security chief Janet Napolitano and ICE Director John Morton, who are preventing them from upholding the law and doing their jobs—because of President Obama’s defacto-amnesty policies. Why isn’t Sen. Rubio helping the good ICE agents instead of making their lives worse?

Next, Sen. Rubio was asked about how the politics of immigration reform would affect the Republican Party.

Sen. Rubio answered: “As far as the Republican Party is concerned, I just want the Republican Party to be what it’s always been. I want the conservative movement to be what it’s always been about, and that is solving problems in a way that’s true to our values and the principles of the greatest nation on earth. And immigration is a problem. Even if we didn’t have a single illegal immigrant in the United States, we’d have to do immigration reforms, because our legal immigration system is broken.”

Sen. Rubio is completely off the deep end here. First, there is nothing conservative about making a mockery out of the rule of law and slapping the faces of all the legal immigrants (from every country in the world including Mexico) who played by the rules. There is nothing conservative about ostensibly saying, “Following the law in America is for suckers” by allowing illegal aliens to apply for a Green Card in 10 years. As I reported the wait time for LEGAL immigrants stuck in the FB-4 category is over 24 years. Are the legal immigrants stuck in backlogs going to be able to work, and travel too like the illegal aliens under the Gang of Eight’s plan?

Moreover, why would a sitting U.S. Senator admit how the legal immigration system is broken and expect that same broken immigration system to process millions of illegal aliens properly when they cannot? Under President George W. Bush, the agency already received two installments of $500 million to modernize and is still in trouble. According to a Government and Accountability Office Report (GAO) called: “Immigration Benefits: Consistent Adherence to DHS’s Acquisition Policy Could Help Improve Transformation Program Outcome,” their “transformation” program is running behind schedule. The report also warns: the USCIS does not operate using “best practices.” Therefore it makes “meaningful measurement and oversight of program status and progress, and accountability for results, difficult to achieve.”

Where is the common sense? Doesn’t Sen. Rubio read the GAO reports that are written for members of Congress? Every criminal, thug, gangster will get into America because of the incompetence and crime that has already plagued this agency for decades as is also documented by the copious examples of federal indictments in my book.

Furthermore, had Sen. Rubio read my book, Crime & Incompetence or GAO reports, he would know that no amount of Sen. John McCain style immigration pandering will save the Republican Party because of the ongoing citizenship promotion programs that are running through 13 federal agencies and include additional taxpayer funded grants to the USCIS to help green card holders become naturalized via free English lessons and the like (Chapter 10: Game Changer). These programs even appear in Michelle Obama’s lunch program.

These citizenship promotion programs helped President Bill Clinton get re-elected in 1996 by misusing immigration for political gain and helped President Obama’s 2012 re-election.

A responsible senator would be looking at how taxpayer money is spent. A responsible senator would hold hearings to determine whether or not the USCIS is capable of reform by speaking to law enforcement and LEGAL immigrants.

Incredibly Sen. Rubio emphatically stated during his weekend media blitz, “Immigration is a problem because our laws are not enforced. They are not enforced,” which is why common sense would say enforce the laws and prove to Americans that the federal government can do their job. Instead Sen. Rubio is apparently void of any common sense by insisting legalizing millions of illegal aliens (that will fundamentally transform America) in a broken, corrupt system is the answer. Useful idiot? Indeed.

The truth in print. That these professional politicians think the American public is stupid enough to believe their propaganda is insulting.

Read my lips Mr. Rubio the Hispanic population will not vote for you or the GOP, plus you stand the chance of losing the conservative base as did your mentor McCain and let us include Romney in which 4 million conservatives did not vote. The people who led you down this road duped you, seen you as naive as I expect your parents may have told you pick your friends carefully.
I'm old with many opinions few solutions.
