So this is what bailout money is going for?

Citi Private Bank to Provide Its Clients Eurasia Group's "Global Political Risk Index" for Economic and Political Risk Analysis

NEW YORK -- Eurasia Group and Citi Private Bank announced today a relationship to offer Private Bank global clients exclusive access to Eurasia Group's unique political risk analysis. Through specialized client briefings, conferences and research products, Eurasia Group and Citi Private Bank intend to connect this research with the investment process to deliver a comprehensive view of how political and financial factors interact to affect investments.

"As capital moves increasingly into emerging and frontier markets, decision makers need better methods to weigh political risk against financial reward," said Ian Bremmer, president of Eurasia Group. "This relationship will couple political analysis into broader investment analysis, which often only includes consideration of economic and financial factors, thus providing a truly comprehensive research offering."

The flagship product is the monthly publication "Perspectives on Geopolitics," which will feature Eurasia Group's Global Political Risk Index (GPRI). The Index provides unique comparative and international political analysis to help global business decision-makers best understand the global economic environment.

Private Bank clients will benefit from Eurasia Group's political risk analysis in the GPRI. The Index is the only risk assessment tool on Wall Street that features detailed analysis of political, social, security and economic developments tailored to meet the needs of emerging market investors. The GPRI rates 24 countries along four distinct categories of risk. The methodology used to generate the index consists of 20 distinct indicators - both quantitative and qualitative - that influence political, economic and social change and, in turn, political stability within each country.

"Traditional investment risk analysis is enhanced by precise and detailed assessment of political factors," said David Rosenberg, Head of US Investment Solutions at Citi Private Bank. "Without this element, the risks and potential rewards of an investment might not be accurately forecast."

The countries covered in the GPRI include Algeria, Argentina, Brazil, Bulgaria, China, Colombia, Egypt, Hungary, India, Indonesia, Iran, Mexico, Nigeria, Pakistan, Philippines, Poland, Russia, Saudi Arabia, South Africa, South Korea, Thailand, Turkey, Ukraine, and Venezuela.

Eurasia Group is a research and consulting firm that focuses on global political risk and emerging market country analysis, serving major financial institutions, multinational corporations and governments. Founded in 1998, Eurasia Group has a full-time staff of 85, a global network of more than 480 in-country experts and partners covering more than 65 countries. Eurasia Group is headquartered in New York, with offices in Washington, DC and London. www.eurasiagroup.net

Rusty Fleming's last point was the scariest thing I have heard. Opening the borders with a violent collapsed nation and letting in who knows who is the last thing we need. Granting asylum is lunacy, and I was upset when we opened the borders for those escaping the hurricane. Who knows if any of them ever went home.
