Three teenage American girls, two of Somali descent and one of Sudanese descent, ran away from their homes in the Denver area. They boarded a flight at Denver International Airport to Germany, where they were stopped by the FBI.
The girls were apparently planning on heading to Turkey and then crossing into Syria. Authorities believe they were planning to join ISIS.
According to The Denver Post, the girls were tweeting their fellow classmates about their plan:
Three teenagers tweeted with fellow students about their plans to travel to Germany, apparently on their way to join the Islamic State, school officials said Wednesday.
“Students came in on Monday morning and reported the tweets to us,” said Cherry Creek School District spokeswoman Tustin Amole. “They said they were going to Germany and try to go to Turkey. Some of the students (on Twitter) told them it was a bad idea, others said good luck.”
The video featured in the ABC News report comes from that of an ex-soccer player who threw in lot with ISIS. That video can be viewed below:

The man is Abu Issa al-Andalusi, a Westernized Muslim who grew up in Portugal before playing for the north London club.
If such reports show anything, it’s that enemies of the United States like ISIS are in it for the long haul – and they’re looking for any fellow travelers in America who will help them with their diabolical cause.
