Mujahid Abu Hamza (Adebolajo) is one of the “very wicked people in the world”

Surely David Cameron is on his way right now to see Mujahid Abu Hamza, formerly known as Michael Adebolajo, in order to explain to this jihadi killer that he is actually a Misunderstander of Islam, and that his murder of Lee Rigby had nothing whatsoever to do with Islam.
“Religion ‘everything’: hacking accused,” by Margaret Davis and Jamie Grierson for AAP, December 9:
ONE of the men accused of murdering British soldier Lee Rigby has told a jury “my religion is everything”.Michael Adebolajo, 28, began giving evidence in London on Monday, surrounded by five security guards.
He and Michael Adebowale, 22, are accused of murdering Rigby by running him down with a car and then hacking him to death with a meat cleaver and knives near Woolwich Barracks in south east London on May 22.
The soldier’s relatives sat feet away as Adebolajo spoke to the court.
He said: “My religion is everything.
“When I came to Islam I realised that… real success is not just what you can acquire, but really is if you make it to paradise, because then you can relax.”
Adebolajo said he converted to Islam in his first year at Greenwich University.
When asked about his attitude to people in authority, he said: “Generally speaking, I don’t get along with them, generally. In most instances I don’t get along with authority, except for my mother and my father.”
As ground rules were set out for his giving evidence, including not speaking over the judge, he said: “I don’t believe in the law.”
The court heard that Adebolajo is married and has six children, including a seven-year-old boy.
He said that, growing up in Romford, the “vast majority” of his friends were white British, and one, Kirk Redpath, joined the Army and was later killed in Iraq.
Adebolajo said: “I hold Tony Blair responsible for his death.”
Not, in other words, the Islamic jihadist who actually killed him.
He said his favourite teacher at school was the first person to teach him about Adolf Hitler. He told the court it showed him that “there are some very wicked people in the world”.
No kidding, really? Funny to hear a comment like this from one of them.
The 28-year-old was raised as a Christian. He told the jury of eight women and four men: “My parents used to take us to church every Sunday. The memory that sticks in my mind… is probably every New Year’s Eve in the evening around 11 o’clock we would gather around in candlelight and read passages from the Bible.”
He missed some of the good parts.

IT ONLY TOOK A JURY 90 MINUTES TO REACH A VERDICT ON ONE OF THE MOST HORRIFIC CRIMES OF THE YEAR

LONDON (AP) — Two British-born, al-Qaida-inspired extremists who considered themselves “soldiers of Allah” were convicted Thursday of murdering an off-duty serviceman who was run down with a car and stabbed to death in a frenzied attack on a London street.
The jury of eight women and four men deliberated for just 90 minutes before finding Michael Adebolajo and Michael Adebowale guilty of murdering Fusilier Lee Rigby. They were acquitted of attempting to murder a police officer.
The two men will be sentenced early next year.
Neither defendant reacted as the jury foreman announced the verdicts. Adebolajo, at 29 the elder of the two, smiled and kissed a copy of the Quran as he was led down to the cells.

Members of Rigby’s family stood in tears outside London’s Central Criminal Court as a police officer read out a statement on their behalf.

“We are satisfied that justice has been done,” the statement said. “But unfortunately no amount of justice will bring Lee back.”
Adebolajo and 22-year-old Adebowale had pleaded not guilty to murder, though neither denied taking part in the May 22 attack.
The 25-year-old Rigby, a member of the Royal Fusiliers who had served in Afghanistan, was returning on foot to his barracks in south London when he was hit by the car being driven by Adebolajo. As the soldier lay on the ground, Adebowale repeatedly stabbed him and Adebolajo attempted to cut off his head.

One witness described the attack, which took place on a busy street near a primary school, as looking “like a butcher attacking a joint of meat.”
Adebolajo was filmed by a passer-by moments later, covered in blood and holding a cleaver and a knife, justifying the attack “because Muslims are dying daily by British soldiers.”
“An eye for an eye, and a tooth for a tooth,” he said repeatedly on the video.

Adebolajo later told the police, in an interview played in court, that he and Adebowale had decided to kill a British soldier, and Rigby had been targeted because “he was the soldier that was spotted first.”
Adebowale, who has suffered mental health issues since his arrest, chose to present no evidence in his defense during the three-week trial. His lawyer, Abbas Lakha, told the jury that his client agreed with Adebolajo’s description of the attack as a “military operation” and the two men as soldiers.
After the attack the two killers waited at the scene, and then charged at a police car waving a machete and a gun.
Both men had denied trying to kill a police officer, saying they hoped to provoke police into shooting them. Lakha said Adebowale had brandished a 90-year-old unloaded pistol so he “would achieve martyrdom.”

Armed officers shot the two men several times — blowing off Adebowale’s thumb as he raised the gun — then gave the men first aid.
The savagery of the crime, Adebolajo’s bloodthirsty rhetoric — delivered in a London accent — and the ordinary working-day surroundings all helped make the killing a crime that inflamed fears of Islamic extremist terrorism in Britain. It was followed by a spate of attacks on mosques and Islamic centers, and by protests from far-right groups.
Police contrasted the savagery of the attack with the bravery and compassion of passers-by. One woman tried to comfort Rigby as he lay in the street. Another tried to persuade Adebolajo to put down his weapons.
Farooq Murad, secretary general of the Muslim Council of Britain, called the murder a “barbaric act.”
“Muslim communities then, as now, were united in their condemnation of this crime,” he said.
Prime Minister David Cameron welcomed the guilty verdicts on the murder charge. He said the crime “shows we have to redouble our efforts to confront the poisonous narrative of extremism and violence that lay behind this and make sure we do everything to beat it in our country.”

The attack raised questions about whether Britain’s intelligence services could have done more to prevent Rigby’s killing, as both suspects had been known to them from earlier inquiries.

Adebolajo, who comes from a Christian family and converted to Islam in his teens, was arrested in November 2010 near the Kenya-Somalia border and eventually returned to Britain. Kenyan officials said he intended to join an Islamic militant group in Somalia.
The pair had been radicalized, in part through exposure to firebrand preachers like U.S.-born al-Qaida leader Anwar al-Awlaki, who was killed in a U.S. drone strike in Yemen in 2011. Sermons by al-Awlaki and other extremist material were found at Adebolajo’s father’s house.
The men were not accused of being linked to a wider conspiracy. Adebolajo told the court he had never met anyone from al-Qaida but admired the terrorist group and considered its members his “brothers in Islam.”
The judge praised the dignity of Rigby’s family “throughout what must have been the most harrowing of evidence.” He thanked jurors, who sat through graphic footage of the murder, for their service.
The judge said he would sentence the defendants next year, after a January Court of Appeal ruling on the use of life sentences without parole.
The Crown Prosecution Service said it would ask the court to find that the murder was motivated by terrorism, which could add to the length of the sentences.

Police Warn Soldiers to Expect Another “Lee Rigby-Style” Beheading by Muslim

in News, World News / by Dom the Conservative / on July 11, 2014 at 6:07 pm /

Soldiers have been warned to be on high alert after police announced there are threats and plotting of another “Lee Rigby-style” attack.
Soldier Fusilier Lee Rigby was brutally run down by a car on May 22 last year by Muslims Michael Adebolajo and Michael Adebowale on a street in London. Dozens of defenseless spectators watched in horror as the two then proceeded to hack the half-alive man’s head off with knives and a cleaver.

Michael Adebolajo and Michael Adebowale serve prison time for the murder of Fusilier Lee Rigby.

A warning notice was sent out to troops in the West Midlands along with names and mug shots of a convicted criminal who converted to Islam in prison, according to the Mirror.
It’s believed that the suspect has twice approached soldiers, asking questions about their positions, and may have even filmed or photographed them in preparation for an attack.
    The Mirror reports:
It says the man ‘has approached a serviceman on two separate occasions in the Wolverhampton area asking for information relating to the Armed Forces and possibly photographing and filming personnel in uniform at a military event’.
The warning notice continues, he “is reported to have converted to Islam during a recent custodial sentence for firearms charges.
“Personnel are to be vigilant and report any sightings or dealings with this individual to the Police immediately.”
A military source told the Daily Mirror: “Troops are having to be extra careful these days because it is known that there are extremists who want to harm them.
“The Lee Rigby killing shook all of us.
“Nobody wanted to go back to the sort of precautions we all took during the Northern Ireland troubles but it’s getting that way.”
When Rigby was killed, it took unarmed police 9 minutes to arrive at the scene. Armed police did not arrive until 5 minutes after that. Because firearms are illegal to the public, citizens could only watch as the two murderers slowly butchered Rigby, waving a gun and cleaver at bystanders.
