Karl Rove: GOP Will Lose White House And Senate If Trump Becomes President

    by MICHELLE FIELDS
    8 Jan 2016

Republican strategist Karl Rove said Friday that the Republican Party will lose the White House and many seats in Congress if Donald Trump wins the presidential nomination.

“If Mr. Trump is its standard-bearer, the GOP will lose the White House and the Senate, and its majority in the House will fall dramatically,” Rove wrote in an op-ed for the Wall Street Journal.

Rove also said that Republicans will lose the White House if Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) becomes the nominee.

“If the nominee is Ted Cruz the situation is still dicey,” he wrote. Rove said that all of the Republican presidential candidates, other than Trump and Cruz, have a chance at beating Clinton and keeping the Senate.

Rove also argued that, “if the GOP contest narrows to two or three candidates by March 15, Mr. Trump will not be the party’s nominee.”

However, he claims that, “if on the Ides of March someone wins both the winner-take-all primaries in Florida (by Congressional district) and Ohio (statewide), that person will be the nominee.”

Trump continues to lead in the polls nationwide with 35 percent. Cruz trails behind him with 20 percent.

I can't believe that anyone would think that Karl Rove's predictions have any merit based on his track record.

Hopefully the readers of the Wall Street Journal are savvy enough to know who to vote for on their own and don't need Karl Rove's latest palm-reading session.

Unfortunately most Wall Street Journal readers are white collar workers and as such are part of the establishment. Trump and Cruz are getting the majority of their support from blue collar workers.

Apparently they like Trump, otherwise Karl Rove wouldn't be planting an article intended to convince them to do otherwise.
