This is exactly what makes me angry. I have stated this before and will do it again. Many police departments will not allow their officers to ask immigration status. The only time they are allowed to call ICE is when a person is run and there is a message about contacting ICE and even then depending on what it is depends whether they will call. For example if there is a message saying deportation order many will not call but if it is a fugitive they do as they have to. Many officers will call ICE on their own time as civilians anonymously. I actually reported the day laborers at the Home Depot and told ICE about the law enforcement agencies policy on asking immigration status. Now I regret that I did not speak to a supervisor about that.
On a happier note; there is a local police department in South Broward County where the officers take illegals to Border Patrol if they catch them committing a misdemeanor crime. A friend of mine delvers them on a regular basis. I hope they don't change that policy.

“Sanctuary cities, on the other hand, would have 25 percent of non-emergency federal Homeland Security funding revoked if they refuse to change their policies within 6 months. "

    25 PERCENT?
