Re: “Police will no longer confiscate vehicles,” the Associated Press, Dec. 26.

The next time you are in an accident with an unlicensed — and, therefore, uninsured — driver, thank Assemblyman Gil Cidillos and the puppet Gov. Jerry Brown for passing a bill allowing unlicensed drivers to keep their vehicles that would have otherwise been towed and confiscated in legal police roadblocks.

Please, no more tears for the poor illegal immigrants who chose to ignore our laws and now get away with it with the help of our own government. My 28-year-old daughter, a taxpaying citizen, cannot afford a vehicle or insurance and rather than break the law chooses to take public transportation. I suspect that is not an option for illegals, who enjoy doing whatever they want. I wonder how driving without a license in their home countries would go over with their government.
