Dear Brenda,

Thank you for contacting me about statehood for the U.S. territory of Puerto Rico.

As you may know, H.R. 2499, the Puerto Rico Democracy Act, was introduced by Representative Pedro Pierluisi (D-PR) on May 19, 2009. On July 22, 2009, the House Committee on Natural Resources, on which I sit, approved the bill.

The Puerto Rico Democracy Act would direct the Puerto Rico State Election Commission to conduct a vote in Puerto Rico during the next session of Congress. This vote would give the voters of Puerto Rico the option to vote for continued U.S. territory status or for a path toward permanent non-territorial status. I am a cosponsor of this legislation.

Living in Arizona all my life I have never seen such garbage. We have a mayor that is garbage and an attorney general that's garbage.. Then we have the FEW THE PROUD AND THE BRAVE, no they aren't Marines, they are our POLICE, OUR SHERIFF DEPUTIES, etc.

I've personally seen and had enough.. I want the illegals gone. I have many friends who are LEGAL citizens and in no way shape or form should this reflect on them. Unfortunately like all the bad in any group, it does reflect on them.

Be sure and watch Glenn Beck I believe it's tomorrow, he is having several LEGAL IMMIGRANTS on his show who are tired of this.

I'm currently the Campaign Manager for Jeff Smith for Congress who is running against Jeff Flake. We will be having our first huge fund raiser on May 13th @ ROCKIN R RANCH. PLEASE get the word out about Flake, and McCain is knee deep in this as well.

Good luck azjemzngold. I know a little about Snowflake, AZ. Little about Jeff Flake. Sounds like AZ should promote Snowflake, and get rid of the other Flake!

I've been on Alipac for some time! I'm the Campaign Manager for Jeff Smith for Congress, who is running against Jeff Flake. Not only do we want McCain out we also want Flake out. His family is well known in Arizona for harboring illegals and giving them work. While others, including me remain out of work. This is an issue that here in Arizona has become overwhelming. They are moving into our communities, then areas' are no longer safe. With Arizona as the second only to Bogata Columbia, in murder and kidnappings, I am personally tired of living in fear. I keep my weapon on my nightstand, fully loaded. I am not afraid to protect myself. On the other side I have many friends who are legally in this country and naturalized citizens. They are wonderful people. Needless to say the liberal press has portrayed them as having rights to what American's have. Sorry but those days are over. We will hopefully be shipping out a whole lot more then come in. Many people do not know that the President of Mexico has flyers dropped daily to go to America. There is work there. But all we get are the criminals, they stand on corners everyday in parts of town to get work. Police and Sheriff's cannot arrest them because they are not breaking the law, UNTIL they are picked up by a contractor. Then the contractor as well as the illegals are rounded up. This has been going on for years. There are just parts of Phoenix you do not go into and the west side of Phoenix, forget it, Most police officers won't even go into some areas. This is what we live with daily. It has to stop and when our own Congressmen, refuse to do anything, until one rancher is murdered, it's a political show, it's a joke. I"m personally sick of McCain and of Flake. They will loose in November!!

Well I sure hope this new bill helps you all out down there, it is past time for them to do something about it through out the whole country.

WE are still waiting on the support of the FEDS which we know will not come. Furthermore, Flake's family is well known for hiring illegals. This is opposition that we no longer need. Trying to push Amnesty through for these people is just wrong for all of us and we know it. Unfortunately McCain and Flake can turn a blind eye to a few hundred thousand in earmarks and yet knowing this bill will cost of trillions, they continue to push! Flake has sealed his coffin shut as of this past weekend by trying to push Amnesty through under the guise of the Puerto Rican Statehood. Which we all know would only bring more impoverished people into this country.
