Thread: Malia Obama Guarded By 25 Secret Service Agents on Spring Break in Mexico

In the last two weeks we have learned that the White House can have important story's pulled from the media AFTER THEY ARE RELEASED like this one about his daughter vacationing in Mexico.

And we have learned that Obama can have stories blocked like the one about his Birth Certificate and other documents he provided to show proof of his eligibility to be President being FORGERIES according to POLICE INVESTIGATORS.

Update at 3:14 p.m. ET: The White House says Malia Obama, who is vacationing with classmates in Oaxaca is fine, ABC News reports."In light of today's earthquake, we can confirm that Malia Obama is safe and was never in danger," said Kristina Schake, communications director for Michelle Obama.

AFP reported Monday that the Obamas' oldest daughter was south of the border for spring break, accompanied by 25 Secret Service agents. But later in the day the report mysteriously vanished, without explanation, from several sites, including Yahoo News and the Huffington Post. That prompted speculation the White House had asked news organizations to pull the report. Today, Schake confirmed that is indeed what happened.

Here's what Politico says:

"From the beginning of the administration, the White House has asked news outlets not to report on or photograph the Obama children when they are not with their parents and there is no vital news interest," Kristina Schake, Communications Director to the First Lady, told me via email. "We have reminded outlets of this request in order to protect the privacy and security of these girls."

The problem with this statement is that there is a valid news interest. When American kids have been warned not to go to Mexico, when we read continuous stories of kidnapping's in Mexico, when taxpayer dollars are going towards paying for 25 secret service agents, then this trip does validate news coverage.

Apparently one national television news show in Mexico did not get the memo because they reported on her whereabouts while in Oaxaca and even noted where she and her class were headed to next, to see the Mayan sites. The producers of these shows need to think before they publish this type of information. We're talking about the kids of an important figure traveling in a relatively dangerous country right now. I don't think the Zetas are that stupid, what with what happened with Bin Laden, but if they were and were able to do something to her, the media would certainly be responsible.
