I have had so many family members talking to me about this when they saw it in the news. They are all so excited and asked me if we (members of ALIPAC) think this will start happening across America.

I told everyone the same thing, no, unless YOU get involved and help make it happen!!!

Now, I plan to see about sitting down and reading up on Farmers Branches fight, what they have enacted, how they plan to do it and then with the organized (I hope I can accomplish this part!!LOL) information, present it to our new mayor who has been in the news talking about all of our town blighted areas where gang problems and graffiti abound, and how he is wanting to clean it up.

Positive news is extremely rare, this is fantastic! I hope this movement spreads like wildfire across the nation.

No matter what the outcome this is a clear message as to what the citizens want.

Wanted to pass this along! Received in email today!

Wanted to say "Thank You" to everyone in Farmers Branch who came out
and voted on Saturday, and to everyone in town and out of town who
volunteered, sent emails and cards, and voiced their support.
Saturday's election was a best-case scenario for our town: we have a
peaceful and orderly example of democracy in action, and our voters
sent a clear message. The people spoke, and gave a mandate to the
City leaders to uphold the law, and sent the strong message to the
State and Federal Government that appeasement is not leadership, and
that our immigration laws are not in need of "reform," but instead are
in need of renewed enforcement.

So thank you! Be proud to be an American! We live in the greatest
country on earth, where freedom and responsibility reign, and all are
welcome under the law.

Message from Tim O'hare

All:

What all of you helped accomplish is nothing short of remarkable.
This entire experience has been the most rewarding endeavor I have
ever been involved in. I am honored to have been a part of it.
Hundreds of people came together for the benefit of our town and our
country. I have made dozens of new friends, met hundreds more that I
am proud to know, and feel that all of us together really made a
difference.

To everyone that participated at any level, thank you from the bottom
of my heart. I hope everyone will remember that giving a speech in
front of hundreds is new to me. In hindsight, I probably should not
have mentioned anyone by name. I forgot to mention a number of
people, including my mother, so please realize that I left no one out
on purpose and don't want anyone to feel slighted. So, instead of
mentioning names at this point, please allow me to say thank you to
each and everyone that I met through this, that helped with the cause
and that took time out of their lives to do what we all believe is
right. Passing 2903, electing Tim and David - none of those things
would have been possible without the time, talent, energy, money and
efforts made by all of you. You all did an incredible job. We truly
learned what democracy in action is all about. This effort was a
shining example of democracy at work.

I believe that what we did will help to further ignite a fire that
will spread across this nation - a fire that will embolden cities,
counties and states to stand up for their towns and our country.

The best days for Farmers Branch are ahead, and I am excited about the
direction of our city. Let's not let our efforts come to an end.
Let's make sure this is just the beginning. We can all play a part in
revitalizing our neighborhoods, bringing in new retail and making our
city one of the best places to live in the Metroplex. We can help
people who cannot afford to take care of their homes. We can continue
to get involved by applying for city boards. The possibilities are
endless.

If you are interested in serving on a city board, please e-mail me. I
plan to keep a list of people who want to serve on a board and contact
them when there are openings. I would love to get an e-mail from
every person that has been involved in this effort who lives in FB.

Again, thank you for all that you have done. This has been a team
effort through and through. I am so thankful for all of your efforts
and for our incredible accomplishments.

Please do not ever hesitate to call me with an issue or concern. My
admiration for many of you can never be truly expressed with words.
