Young Obama (whom many view as charismatic) will easily beat old sour McBuzzard.
[b] If we do not insist on Voter ID, how can we stop illegals from voting?

They won't agree on the Iraq war though.

    Just an idea anyway
The GOP replaced the Whigs because the party establishment always expected its constituents to "fall in line" and "do what's good for the party". The GOP is doing the same thing to conservatives right now. I don't expect that there will be a massive rebellion because voters 200 years ago were more informed and more educated than voters nowadays. However, I do think that McAmnesty would get pummeled in the general election because millions of conservatives would do one of three things:

    1) Stay at home

    2) Vote 3rd party

    3) Vote for a dem

I'd definitely do options #1 or #2 and I might do option #3 if McAmnesty would have a chance at winning the election.

I thinking I just might vote Dem. That way Romney will run again in four years. McCain will be too old and we're back in the ball park.

I doubt Romney would run again, but I could be wrong. If Romney doesn't get the nomination this year, we need to start finding fresh faces to take on the Boosh/McAmnesty wing of the party in 2012. How about the new governor of Louisiana, Bobby Jindal? I have no idea where he stands on the issues, but there's a lot of buzz around him right now as the future of the party. We need to start courting these fresh faces before they become corrupted by the GOP establishment.

Edit to add: Currently, Jindal has an A- rating on numbersusa.com.
