    McClintock Won Hurray!

Need someone to verify this, this is unverified but came from Jeff Schwilk of SDMM.

"Tom McClintock won by .1 % (400 votes!!) Huge win for our "American Caucus" in the House!"

    That is great news!

That's great, I have the highest respect for Tom. Will their be a recount?
Of course the Dem challenger will end up with even less votes, since probably 5% of his votes are from non-citizens.

Excellent news! Have heard him talk so often on the radio and have been very impressed with him. He's run for various positions in this state and just keeps trying. He's a fighter!

The more the better for our freedoms. We have to block the rats from putting up laws to brining down ALIPAC and Talk radio. If they do it, it is over for us.

Not finding current news about this. Maybe there will be more tomorrow morning. Found this article from this morning:

8:30 a.m. update: Tom McClintock-Charlie Brown congressional race not over yet
By TONI SCOTT - Staff Writer
Article Launched: 11/05/2008 08:51:24 AM PST

Tom McClintock and Charlie Brown may not know who has won the District 4 congressional seat until Thanksgiving.
With 100 percent of precincts reporting this morning, Republican McClintock led by a mere 451 votes out of more than 310,000 votes cast. However, several thousand ballots remained to be counted. Each county must check provisional ballots and late absentee ballots dropped off at the polls Tuesday before they can be counted, a process that can take weeks.

The candidates are looking to fill the seat currently held by Rep. John Doolittle, R-Roseville, in a historically conservative district.

McClintock is a state senator for a Southern California district. He has spent the past 22 years in the state Legislature. Brown spent 26 years in the Air Force, serving as a rescue helicopter pilot, flight instructor and flight examiner among various titles, before retiring in 1998 as a lieutenant colonel.

Statewide attention was focused on the 4th District, which some analysts rated a toss-up in the final days of the race even though Republicans hold a 15 percentage point voter registration advantage over Democrats in the district that stretches from the Sacramento suburbs north to Oregon and east to Nevada, including Oroville and its foothills.

Brown came close to beating Doolittle in 2006. His challenge got tougher after Doolittle announced his retirement and Republicans nominated McClintock.

McClintock is known for his staunch opposition to taxes and the growth
of government spending. He tried to portray Brown as a liberal.
Brown, helped by spending from the national Democratic Party, called McClintock a career politician who was shopping the state for a new job and had abused the perks of office. California's congressional delegation is divided between 34 Democrats and 19 Republicans. Because of gerrymandering, most seats are safe for the party that holds them, although House members must face voters every two years.
