MD Closes Police Barracks, But Pushing In-State Tuition For Illegal Aliens Tomorrow
By Digger
The state of Maryland and its leaders are seriously screwed up when it comes to budgetary issues. Recently the governor of Maryland Martin O'Malley closed a state police barracks in Annapolis because he said there was no funding for it. Yet those in the Maryland House and the Senate, particularly the Democrats, find it perfectly okay for the taxpayers of Maryland - and the whole of the nation - to subsidize the illegal aliens in this country by allowing them to pay in-state tuition rates at Maryland state colleges and universities.
This is a clear choice by the Democratic Party in Maryland of putting the wants of the law breakers ahead of the actual enforcing of laws and supporting our law enforcement personnel.
Who cares, you don't live in Maryland! Well I can tell you this, these universities and colleges receive federal funds, i.e. money from every American in this nation, and therefore your money will be going to pay for the college tuition of illegal aliens while a law abiding American student will not receive the seat taken by that illegal alien.
This is an absolute ridiculous statement that is going on all across this country in other states and we must act to stop it! The Maryland GOP is putting out a call to action.
Tomorrow, the House Ways and Means Committee is holding a hearing on House Bill 1236, which would qualify illegal immigrants for in-state tuition rates at Maryland’s state colleges and universities. Senate Bill 591 is the companion bill in the Senate. Through their own actions, Democrats are placing a higher priority on providing in-state tuition to illegal immigrants than providing for the public safety of our legal citizens.
...
Current law requires that a person have legal residency in the state of Maryland for one year prior to qualifying for in-state tuition rates. House Bill 1236 and Senate Bill 591 would continue imposing the one-year legal residency requirement on U.S. citizens, but would not impose that requirement on those illegally in the U.S. House Bill 1236 has 41 co-sponsors, Senate Bill 591 has 10 co-sponsors, and Governor Martin O’Malley expressed support for last year’s effort to qualify illegal immigrants for in-state tuition rates.
