I disagree with the First Lady on grades-vs-standardized tests.

Having the same GPA can range quite a bit between students. There are schools that are dumbed down and socially promote. There are also those schools that are very challenging with high expectations. Even in my school, we had different classes of types depending on the student’s abilities. We had classes for the slower, medium, and smart kids.

Having standardized tests, like the SAT, etc., are a way of getting through the GPA issues. Every student is judged by the same standard.

Standardized tests are also the way for the states to see where the problem schools really are. Going by grades doesn’t mean much with “No child left behind.â€
I would never be so arrogant as to move to another country and expect them to change for me.

That is the one that just pisses me off!!!! Next thing you know everyone will be forced to be held back so they can catch up!!
They are pretty much doing that now with the "No Child Left Behind" act.

When you are a socialist, nothing to do with sucess matters! Socialism makes everyone poor.
