Middle School History Report...
My 13 year old daughter is doing a U.S. History report on Illegal Immigration. I am so excited! She has to state facts and opinions to get her point across and will have to debate someone who does not agree with sending them home. Her goal in the project is to provide information based on facts to sway others to see why this is such an inportant issue. She will need other peoples opinnions to use in her speech and in her report. I am asking to see if anyone has time that would not mind posting any links to factual information on counts in states, laws, raids, indenity thefts, or just whatever else i am not thinking of! If you leave an opinion, may i use it in her report? Any help would be most grateful!
Thank you.

Have her read a few of these stories to her classmates.
it's full of stories about how Americans have been harmed and killed by illegal aliens. Most stories have pictures.
example
It has never been easy to be a cop, but the presence today of millions of illegal aliens makes the job enormously more difficult and dangerous. That hazard is multiplied for police who work in a sanctuary city or state (see map), where they are prevented from asking about immigration status, knowledge which should be part of every officer's toolbox. In such places, the criminal is given an edge and law enforcement suffers.
We don't know whether Houston's sanctuary policy had a direct connection with the murder of Officer Rodney Johnson on Sept. 21, for example by making the city a more attractive place for the accused killer, illegal alien Juan Leonardo Quintero, to settle. We do know that the accused was previously deported in 1999 for sexual indecency with a child, so he may have wanted all the advantage he could get.
Officer Johnson had stopped Quintero for speeding, found he didn't have a license, then cuffed him and put him in the back of the squad car. Quintero somehow was able to draw a weapon which Johnson had missed, and then shot and killed the officer as he sat in the driver's seat. Quintero was quickly caught and was arraigned a day following the crime.
Rodney Johnson truly was one of Houston's Finest and had been recognized more than once for his heroic actions in the line of duty.

aklady,
Personally, I would suggest that she focus on the economical effects of mass illegal immigration on our society. Those facts cannot be challenged or disputed and are completely void of any racism. Here are a few sites which came to mind:
http://www.law.cornell.edu/constitution ... rview.html
Article IV, Section 4:
The United States shall guarantee to every state in this union a republican form of government, and shall protect each of them against invasion;

THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU!!
There was just so much information out there and i did not know where to begin. The sites you gave were perfect! I would like to tell you that my 13 year old daughter is outraged by all this. It was a real eye-opener. I am happy to report that when she took it in, her poster was chosen for the "outline" for all students to follow. We got our point across and the teacher had every student go up and read her poster, and even take a mini test on it! The teacher also took it to the vice-principle to show what an awesome job she had done!! We had to state a site to where you could find others to "help" with the topic they chose and we used ALIPAC! I do believe you will now have another member... her teacher! The real clincher was the victum stories. My daughter read each one and chose 2 that really captured her point. One kid in class had tears i was told. So again, thank you all for the help. She gives her speech next week to go with her poster. I wish i had a copy to post cause it was really good for her age. When she reads it, you can hear the anger, yet feel the need for action.
Best wishes to you all and God bless.

I think it's great that your daughter is doing this report. Young Americans need to realize the problem of illegal immigration. Here's a link to You Don't Speak For Me
http://www.dontspeakforme.org
You Don't Speak For Me is a great organization that is made of American Hispanics who are against illegal immigration. Many people need also realize that people of different races and cultures are firmly against illegal immigration.
On youtube there are some speeches from the 2007 Hold Their Feet To The Fire rally. Just look it up and you and your daughter will find some good speeches and some facts on crime and education effects. Keep us posted on how the report goes.ProEnglish:The English Language Advocates

Aklady...what an awesome daughter you have! Congrats to both of you! I'm amazed that her school even allowed a report on the disastrous effects of illegal immigration! You must not be in a sanctuary city, lol! I doubt if any kids here in LAUSD would even be allowed to utter the words "illegal alien" in our schools!
It's even more amazing that there are still those who are not aware of the full effects of illegal immigration! Now that her teacher is informed, hopefully she will spread the word!

UPDATE!
Well, once again I must say Thank You! My daughter's teacher has asked her to get more information together and get some more facts together and take this to the State Wide Competition.
HOWEVER, I am a little leary on letting her do this. It's more about safety than anything. Anybody have any thoughts about this? I don't want to put her in harm's way. Am i being overly worried?
Still makes feel good that she did such a great job and was offered this oppurtunity!
Thanks again for your help!

aklady,
If she sticks with the facts and avoids anything that even remotely insinuates racism, she should be fine. Are there many illegal immigrants in Alaska? Beautiful country...spent about 6 weeks there some time ago and almost took a job there.
