Muslim Threatens to Murder Children at Ohio School because of Israel-Hamas Conflict – All Schools Placed on Lockdown

This is another example of how Islamists are completely irrational. Due to what is taking place in the Middle East between Israel and Hamas, a man who identified himself as Mohammed Shehad phoned the Pickerington North High School in Pickerington, Ohio claiming to have an AK-47 and said that he planned to launch an attack on the school.

The Washington Free Beacon reports:

The man, who claimed to have an AK-47, said he planned to launch an attack on the school and kill students over his apparent anger at the Middle East conflict, (Fairfield County Sheriff Dave) Phalen said.

"The school received a call [at around 11:15 a.m.] from a male with a heavy accent and he indicated that he was going to attack Pickerington North due to attacks on Israel and was going to kill the kids and that he had an AK-47 gun," Phalen recounted.

"He identified himself as 'Mohammed Shehad,'" or something similar to that, and claimed to live in the area, Phalen said, explaining that those who fielded the call were unsure precisely what last name the man provided.

"My sense is that due to the way he identified himself it sounds like he was upset at Israel," though the individual's exact motivations remain unclear, Phalen said. At this point, authorities "really don't know what his frame of mind was or what he was thinking."

The call on Wednesday resulted in all schools in Pickerington, Ohio being placed on lockdown. The classes resumed on Thursday after all afternoon and evening classes were cancelled.
"The nature of the threat was not typical," said Phalen.


The Columbus Dispatch added that no arrests had been made.
The man who phoned in threatened to carry out his attacks within 35 minutes, and when that failed to materialize and the schools were searched and there was nothing out of place, the decision was made to reopen the schools the following day.
Since nothing happened, many might assume that this is not an Islamic jihad move, but Robert Spencer rightly points out that it could be aligned with the Qur'an's teachings to "strike terror into the hearts of the enemies of Allah (Qur'an 8:60).
In either case, there is one thing that continues to make me question if our own government has any idea what it is doing. After all, we've been informed that they have unlawfully tapped phone lines of millions of Americans, that there is an increase Islamic chatter leading up to September 11 and yet, how is it that an Islamist is able to call to a school here in America and not be found out and arrested within the hour?
These are the very kinds of friends that the Obama administration welcomes into the people's house and I, for one, have had enough of it. There needs to be a call loud and clear that Islam is not to be tolerated in the United States and there is a way to deal with it at the state level and the federal level if people would only take the initiative to do so.
