Congressman David Wu
1023 Longworth, U.S. House of Representatives
Washington, DC 20515

Dear Representative Wu,

If you do not cosponsor H. Res. 499, it may be fairly said that you believe some people are above the law.

Who put you in office? Was it U.S. citizens or illegal aliens? It was U.S. citizens, the very U.S. citizens that killed the Senate amnesty.

We are the same U.S. Citizens who can kill your career if you and other elected officials careers don't start listening to the wants and wishes of your constituents.

Your voting record on fighting illegal immigration is poor. Even in liberal Portland, the people demand that the existing laws be enforced. I know NO ONE who believes illegal immigrants should be given a pass, even my Democrat friends and family.

House Resolution 499 would ask President Bush to enforce current immigration law; something, that his administration has been refusing to do. It wouldn't ask for new laws, but simply ask that the ones already on the books designed to keep our country safe, secure, and prosperous are implemented and enforced. In light of the recent announcements of a pending terror attack within our borders, this is critical.

This is exactly what those of us who fought hard against S 1348/S 1639 want to see happen. Credible polls show that between 70-80% of citizens want our existing immigration laws enforced.

Cosponsor H. Res. 499 and help the millions of Americans that are out of work.

Hopefully,
