I think all refugees and immigrants should first be required to settle in Washington DC for at least several years. Perhaps our non-representatives need a glimpse of what we will face first.

Feed them, see to their medical needs and put them on the next flight back to help rebuild their country.
Tampa is loaded with illegal immigrants from countries with no problems, and they should be doing their best to clean them out before replacing them with immigrants who have a desperate need.Join our efforts to Secure America's Borders and End Illegal Immigration by Joining ALIPAC's E-Mail Alerts network (CLICK HERE)

Senegal offers land to Haitians
Abdoulaye Wade said Haitians could "return to their origin"
Senegal's president says he will offer free land and "repatriation" to people affected by the earthquake in Haiti.
President Abdoulaye Wade said Haitians were sons and daughters of Africa since Haiti was founded by slaves, including some thought to be from Senegal.
"The president is offering voluntary repatriation to any Haitian that wants to return to their origin," said Mr Wade's spokesman, Mamadou Bemba Ndiaye.
Tuesday's earthquake killed tens of thousands and left many more homeless.
Buildings have been reduced to rubble, the distribution of aid is slow, and people have been flooding out of the devastated capital, Port-au-Prince.
"Senegal is ready to offer them parcels of land - even an entire region. It all depends on how many Haitians come," Mr Bemba Ndiaye said.
"If it's just a few individuals, then we will likely offer them housing or small pieces of land. If they come en masse we are ready to give them a region."
The spokesman emphasised that if a region was given, it would be in a fertile part of the country rather than in its parched deserts, the Associated Press news agency reported.Join our efforts to Secure America's Borders and End Illegal Immigration by Joining ALIPAC's E-Mail Alerts network (CLICK HERE)

Canadian gov't easing up on immigration for Haitians
By KATHLEEN HARRIS, Parliamentary Bureau
Last Updated: 16th January 2010, 8:42pm
OTTAWA — The federal government is easing up immigration rules to give Haiti earthquake victims refuge with relatives in Canada.
Immigration Minister Jason Kenney announced new measures Saturday to speed up sponsorship applications to reunite family members from Haiti in Canada, including adopted children. About 2,000 applications are already in the queue.
"It is our intention to reunite Canadian citizens and permanent residents from Haiti with their relatives who have been significantly and adversely affected by the earthquake as quickly as possible," he said during a news conference with Prime Minister Stephen Harper and other senior cabinet ministers.
Kenney said Haitians who are already in Canada can prolong their stay by having their temporary resident status extended and that they can request work permits. Fees for applications will be waived.
Liberal MP Jim Karygiannis said the government could also help Haitians by allowing them to evacuate on government flights to join relatives in Canada and also to allow family class sponsored individuals to come on a special visa and continue their application once they arrive here.
Latest figures show 1,362 Canadians are still unaccounted for in Haiti. Six Canadians are confirmed dead an 781 have been identified.
Foreign Affairs Minister Lawrence Cannon said the mission is transforming from a search and rescue operation to a humanitarian and stabilization effort. Chances of finding survivors decrease with every hour.
"We are at a very critical stage of recovery," he said.
Prime Minister Stephen Harper paid tribute to RCMP Sgt. Mark Gallagher and CIDA workers Guillaume Siemienski and Helene Rivard who were killed in the quake.
"They died in Haiti serving their country and we pay tribute to their sacrifice," he said.
Harper said Canada has a "close and historic" relationship with Haiti, and lamented that years of substantial progress rebuilding the impoverished nation have been set back.
"That has virtually been wiped out and we are starting from scratch," he said.
But Harper pledged long-term support for Haiti, noting it is Canada's top recipient for aid in the western hemisphere and second in the world behind Afghanistan. He said a temporary stabilization approach to the crisis would be "disastrous."
"It has been the conviction of the international community that this time we need to go into Haiti and finish the job," he said.
Harper also confirmed the Canadian Forces will be deploying more troops, but said the exact number will be announced in coming days. Sun Media has confirmed at least 800 CF personnel are preparing to deploy from CFB Valcartier in Quebec.
Almost 200 CF members are already on ground distributing water, supplies and rations in Haiti’s capital, Port-au-Prince.
Brig.-Gen. Guy Laroche, who has served in Cyprus, Bosnia and Afghanistan, has been tasked to command the joint team in Haiti.
On the donations front, Canadians have provided about $25 million to date to a federal program that matches contributions dollar-for-dollar.Join our efforts to Secure America's Borders and End Illegal Immigration by Joining ALIPAC's E-Mail Alerts network (CLICK HERE)

How wonderful that Senegal and Canada are both jumping into the fray. Today, more than 2,000 people were at the American Embassy in Haiti trying to get out and the hold up is checking the validity of passports and visas. Per Fox today.
