Oceanside PD nabs 28 unlicensed drivers.

From: Jeff Schwilk, San Diego Minutemen.

They spent about 3 hours at the checkpoint filming and interviewing. SLIDE SHOW BELOW of my pics from today.

OPD did a checkpoint today on northbound N. Sante Fe just south of Mesa Dr. from 1 pm until 4:30 pm. Even though less than 10% of the drivers on N. Sante Fe were directed over to the license checkpoint, 28 did not have drivers licenses and had their cars impounded and were cited. ALL the drivers who were caught driving without licenses were Hispanic and many were illegal aliens. I called Border Patrol twice early in the op, but they never came out. They said they were working with Vista Sheriffs today on a different operation this afternoon. Most drivers spoke little or no English and required translators. OPD did not ask legal status of anyone, did not call Border Patrol or ICE on anyone, and all drivers and passengers were allowed to walk away after their cars were impounded. It will cost them a fortune to get their cars back IF they can prove they went and got a license - something that is impossible to do for illegal aliens (the real reason Bill Flores and his ilk are angry). You may want to keep an eye out for a city auction in about 30 days. Some very nice, late model cars impounded.

Only one La Raza goon showed up (pic. 14 and 15). Her name was Tammy and she gave a very angry and hate-filled interview to Ch. 6. She went balistic on me when I came over to listen to the interview. She started screaming at me and had to be escorted away from the area by the OPD Sergeant in charge. I had never seen the young Reconquista before, but she sure knew who we (San Diego Minutemen) were. We are obviously enemy #1 with these insurgent goons. They know that we (the people) are the reason for increased enforcement in SD Co! Take a bow, Patriots!

A major incident occured about 3:30 when a caucasian man who looked just like Charlie Manson driving a minivan with Missouri plates and his 4 year old son in the van, panicked as he approached the checkpoint and drove up over the median and into oncoming traffic before crashing his van into a storm drain and running into a canyon (see last 8 pictures below). He ran about 150 yards before quick reacting OPD officers caught him. Turned out he had felony warrants out on him. He was arrested and taken to jail. Ch. 6 filmed the capture and arrest! Scary few minutes for everyone while they sorted that out. Luckily no one was hurt.

OPD was 100% professional throughout the op and allowed all the drivers to retrieve any personal items from their cars before they were towed away. I observed for the entire 3 1/2 hours and came away in shock with the realization that a very large percentage of the drivers out there at any given time are driving illegally with no license. A much higher percentage than I imagined possible. OPD says they have 2-3 hit and run accidents in the city per DAY on average and the majority of them are unlicensed drivers. These checkpoints are absolutely necessary in every city in SoCal and should be done at least twice per month until people begin to realize that lawbreaking has steep consequences! Many of these drivers caught today seemed to think they were back in their third world country where they can do whatever they want! They all got a rude awakening today, but thousands are not getting caught in these checkpoints - and they are out on the roadways with you every day!

One Latino man (see pics) was obviously drunk and failed the field sobriety test as the checkpoint was closing down. He had been taken out of his car initially for driving on a suspended license. He said the car belonged to his wife. For some unknown reason OPD cut him a break and did not arrest him. The officer let him go and said "Merry Christmas" as he released him and the guy walked away. One lucky guy. I just hope he doesn't kill someone next time he drives drunk. At least his car was impounded.

Special thanks to Mayor Wood (email above), the city council, and the Oceanside Police for a great checkpoint this afternoon. Enjoy the pics. Click below to start.

Unbelievable! 28 cited for no license but none arrested. Why wasn't there an immigration officer at the checkpoint? I'm sure one could have been arranged for ahead of time.

The same thing happened in here in Raleigh, NC, area Saturday night. I don't have a link but the following is typed directly from my local (The News & Observer) newspaper:

Two DWI arrests made at checkpoint
    FROM STAFF REPORTERS

Garner - A Saturday night anti-drunken driver checkpoint resulted in 50 charges against drivers, including two DWI arrests and 18 citations of driving without a license, a Wake County Sheriff's Office spokeswoman said Sunday.

Deputies set up the checkpoint at U.S. 70 East and Guy Road in Garner, said Phyllis Stephens, a sheriff's office spokeswoman, in a news release issued Sunday.

Additional charges included three for driving with a revoked license and numerous other motor vehicle infractions.
Who are all these folks receiving citations for driving without a license? Do they have other sources of identification? How do we know they're not terrorist? IMO, no adult without identification should be released until their true identity can is ascertained. Interestingly, I do believe the Wake County Sheriff's Department participates in the 287(g) program. Why weren't those suspected of being illegal aliens appreheneded? I assume they weren't since there is no mention of it in the article. IMO, It would be extremely niave to believe that some of those without licenses weren't illegal aliens.

I'd like to know why these drunk drivers are allowed to just walk away with nothing more than a Merry Christmas! Unbelievable! What kind of lesson is to be learned from this???

Look at some of the cars these alleged invaders ( yes that's an assumption, but one i'm reasonably comfortable making in this case) were driving! I have never understood how these people could even get their cars registered without a valid drivers license! You shouldn't be able to register a car in your name without a valid license! I know that probably wouldn't stop these invaders, as they would simply use another name (or God only knows what other illegal method) to bypass this. But it would be a start!

Illegals operate here with IMPUNITY and they KNOW IT! They should have been arrested until they could verify who these people were and then deported if illegal! Why is it that illegals are allowed to operate under an honor system, not available to the average American citizen!
