Thread: OSHA 2007-0032 could END ammunition sales

I am shocked that this has TOTALLY gone under the radar. Public comment on this ends on the 12th (Thursday).

OSHA wants to classify ammunition, powder and primers as explosives.

In general terms, this means that gun ownership has been neutralized in the US (if this stands).

There are some VERY big problems looming. Things like no ammo sales in an establishment selling guns?!?!? (NO S------T).

Just thought I would toss this one out.

(UPDATE), It appears that a 60 day extension has just been allowed. Now the extension will be until Sept 10 (hmm, what a date).

I know this post is a little off topic for ALIPAC, but once our fire arms are gone, so is the country).

OSHA to revise explosives rule

OSHA has issued a notice of proposed rulemaking to revise the Explosives and Blasting Agent standard and is accepting public comment on the proposed standard

until July 12, 2007.

The standard covers employees working in the manufacturing, storage, sale, transportation, handling and use of explosives. The proposal updates and clarifies the regulatory language, revises the standard to be consistent with other federal regulations, incorporates updated consensus standards, and provides the regulated community with more flexibility.

Significant changes in the proposed rule include:

Updating the definition of explosives so it is consistent with the Department of Transportation (DOT) definition
Incorporating the DOT/United Nations-based classification system in the explosives definition
Updating references to DOT regulations
Requiring package labels to be in accordance with OSHA’s Hazard Communication standard and to use the Globally Harmonized System of Classification and Labeling of Chemicals (GHS)
Eliminating storage magazine requirements because the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives has adopted and enforces such regulations
Adding provisions to ensure that employees are properly trained in hazard recognition and safe work practices

now this is scary and corsi talked about this last night that the 2nd amendment would be neutralized to disarm the american public..of course, this is a simple way to do it without actually amending the constitution...

Black powder has been classified as a low grade explosive for a while, and within a year of that "change", it was about impossible to find it. There are some EXTREME rules for handling shipping and storing of BP. Yes, BP has been "replaced" with other "non-explosive" propellants (pyrodex, etc). However, the proposed changes will most likely impact ALL small arms ammunition sales much like it did with BP, and there will be NO replacement designed.

Things such as you can not have possession of firearms in a commercial facility containing explosives will result in most firearms stores not being able to sell ammo. There are other significantly bad things to go along with this.

This is EXACTLY what the UN is wanting to do to simply strip the guns out of US citizens hands (in other words, "F the 2nd amendment" in the UN's eyes).

Time to stock up, for sure.

This will be the test to see if the Supreme Court will step up and defend the Constitution and our right to bear arms (they may say, sure, you can own guns, but where will amo for them come from?) Our Constitution must remain a higher authority than any external entity like the UN or any court appointed by the NAU. This is nothing short of a conspiracy and those architects should all be hung out to dry. The FTA and OSHA should be guided by the Constitution and not the UN, that's the problem right there.
