    Out Sourcing Teaching Jobs

Local school districts in Texas are facing budget shortfalls next year. Instead of cutting top heavy $300K+ administrative salaries, they instead cut teachers. Houston ISD is cutting 850 position, while Ft. Bend ISD is cutting another 450. The very people responsi9ble for educating children will be put out on the streets jobless. Most of which are older teachers.

One would think we can't operate school without teachers, but local school district certainly are aware of this and have a plan. Lets get rid of our most experienced /expensive older teacher and replace them with foreign help. Who cares if they are certified, school districts can just enroll them in their own state certified certification programs. That way these new foreign teachers are on contract for two years and have the opportunity to learn how to be a teacher on the job, at kids expense.

    Here is the proof

The Fort Bend Independent School District is hiring.

As more and more teachers are getting layoff notification letters from the district's human resources department, the district is still scouting for dozens of teachers from other countries to teach elementary pupils.

    Wanted: international teachers

The district is recruiting international teachers to start teaching here for three years starting June 15. The annual compensation is $47,300.

The district hired Foster Quan, LLP, a Houston immigration law firm, to help applicants to acquire H-1B nonimmigrant visa, which would allow them to work in America legally without getting the Green Card, or to acquire Permanent Alien Labor Certification.

In district's financial times, how will public react?

You may also regard this as another case of outsourcing. Last week, the school board approved getting rid of the district’s own groundskeeping crew in favor of contracting an outside company, Turn Key Lawn Care Service, for the work.

While Turn Key is domestic and local, reaching out to foreign countries for employees has some district residents upset.

One of them is a Sugar Land mother of two, who applied for a teaching position with the district four months ago and has so far received no response.

She said Monday afternoon that she has a master’s degree in education from the University of Maryland, is certified in Texas to teach K-12 ESL as well as elementary classes from early childhood to the fourth grade, and has nine years of teaching experience, including that in the Alief school district.

“Fort Bend ISD is facing a major financial crisis and sent out letters to teachers stating they will no longer have jobs,â€

Someone explain to me how it is that foreign students want to attend collegel in the US, because the education is better, but then we turn around and recruit people educated in other countries to teach our minor children?!?! Are we in the Twilight zone here or what?!?!?!?!
