I agree that this is a horrible crime, but after reading all the articles, I've yet to find a connection to immigration. Just wanted to know if I was missing something? By the way, why are they only offering a $1,000 reward? I would think a larger reward, say $10,000, would go a lot further in tempting someone to come forward.

I wondered the same things. I guess the husband and his church don't have any money. Makes you wonder.

The husband seemed pretty happy and upbeat, almost energetic, in his interview I saw him on last week on Fox and Friends. The blond-headed guy who did the interview seemed almost speechless.

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. (Nov. 12, 2015) — A pastor’s wife shot during a home invasion robbery two days ago has died, according to the Marion County Coroner’s Office.

Amanda Blackburn, 28, has been pronounced dead, the coroner’s office said. The cause of death was a gunshot wound to the head, and the manner of death was ruled a homicide.

Blackburn was critically injured during the shooting, which happened around 8:30 a.m. Tuesday at her home in the 2800 block of Sunnyfield Court. The coroner’s office said Wednesday that Blackburn was on a ventilator and that it appeared her death was “imminent.” She has since been taken off the ventilator and the organ donation process is complete, the coroner’s office said.

Blackburn and her husband, Davey Blackburn, moved from South Carolina to Indianapolis in 2012 to start the Resonate Church on the north side. They have a young son and Blackburn was 12 weeks pregnant with their second child.

Police are searching for connections to other recent crimes that happened the same day. A burglary took place just a few houses down from the Blackburn home. Police are also looking at potential connections with a home invasion on the northeast side. Suspects in that case were captured on surveillance video.

"We will find those connections if they're there," IMPD Sgt. Kendale Adams said.

Her husband, who has been cleared as a suspect in the case, released a statement Wednesday regarding his wife:

"It’s impossible to communicate all the emotions my heart has been forced to process. My wife was such a beautiful, gracious, loving woman of God. I have not only lost my ministry partner and support but also my very best friend. There is no way to prepare yourself for circumstances like these. As deeply as I am hurting I am hopeful and confident that good things will come of this. I rest in the truth of Romans 8:28 that God works all things together for the good of those who love Him and who are called according to His purpose."

"Thank you for understanding my desire to take these next few days to continue to grieve for Amanda Grace. My focus right now is to let The Lord minister to my heart as I continue to shepherd little Weston’s. I’ll be taking this time to focus on being a great follower of Jesus, dad, family member, and pastor to our growing church."

"Amanda made it her life’s calling to love and serve everyone she knew. Even more, she has made it her life’s mission to see as many people as possible come to know Jesus as their personal Savior. There is no triumph to follow the brutal murder of your wife, Sir. And I do not know a man or woman who two days after the loss of their loved one could think let alone write in a statement that "the best truly is yet to come".

The best what? The best wife? The best kids? The best ..... what? From where does a normal person draw such energy as he showed in the Fox and Friends interview or such hopefulness for the future without his murdered wife? This is a very strange person in my opinion.

He may not be a suspect at this point, but there's something very fishy about a "home invader" going into his house right after he leaves for the gym and it appears from the reports, they just walked in, no breaking and entering which means he left the door unlocked

With the facts we've been provided, I see nothing "fishy" here. The criminal(s) could have been staking out the house while waiting for the owner to leave. As for not locking the door while at home ........ I'm guilty.

Maybe so. 6 am is a strange time for burglars to be out in the daylight robbing houses. Most people are still at home, kids haven't left for school, security alarms are still set, traffic starts for those with commutes or early work times, others with later work times are still at home, it's just a bizarre time to be committing burglaries, rape and murders. But apparently they got away with it, so maybe it is a good time to commit mayhem and get yourself and vehicle recorded on a video security camera.

My gut instincts tell me there may something important to this story. Just want to keep track of it here for a bit and see how it pans out.

You're right, 6:00 a.m. is a little on the early side. Sorry, I missed the time. However, if the burglar was staking out the house and knew the husband left at the same time each day, I still think it's reasonable to think the husband is guiltless. If this is the way it went down though, the burglar would have also been a premeditated rapist and possible murderer too. If he staked out the house on previous occasions, he had to know the woman didn't leave at 6:00 a.m.

Exactly. So that's a different type of profile than a typical burglar stealing electronic items early in the morning, this is someone planning a rape and murder with theft as a side show. They claim her credit cards have been used but haven't yet mentioned any electronic or other items being stolen. Maybe they were and they just haven't mentioned them yet.

An 18-year-old man has been arrested on a preliminary murder charge in connection with the killing of an Indiana pastor's pregnant wife earlier this month, police said early Monday.

The Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department said in a statement that Larry Taylor was arrested by detectives from the department's violent crime and gang units, with assistance from U.S. Marshals. Prosecutors were reviewing the case to make a final decision on what charges Taylor would face in connection with the murder of Amanda Blackburn.

"We are thankful to our federal, state and local partnerships that aided in the apprehension of the suspect in this terrible and senseless crime," IMPD Chief Rick Hite said in the statement. "All victims of criminal homicides deserve closure, and as a community we must send a collective message that violence is not an option. Our detectives have worked tirelessly going days without sleep to solve murders in our city."

Fox 59 reported that two other suspects, identified as Jalen Watson and Diano Gordon, have been arrested in relation to the Nov. 10 murder. The station also reported that all three will be charged in at least three more burglaries as well as a sexual assault.

It was not immediately clear whether the three suspects were the same three people who were arrested and questioned Thursday after police issued search warrants for three different locations in the city.

According to the station, detectives pieced together an account of the crime in which all three men entered the Blackburn home, which was unlocked, and confronted Amanda after her husband Davey had left for an early morning workout.

Authorities allege that while two of the suspects left the house to withdraw money with the pastor's ATM card, Taylor raped Amanda before shooting her. The crime took place with the couple's 15-month-old son lying in his crib upstairs.

Investigators linked the suspects to the Blackburn case through ATM receipts found in a car the three had allegedly stolen earlier this month. Crime lab technicians are also analyzing a gun that was found in the yard of a home near the Blackburns to determine if it had any connection to the case.

Amanda and Davey Blackburn had moved to Indianapolis from South Carolina to found the independent Resonate Church in 2012. More than 2,000 people attended a memorial service for Amanda Blackburn the Sunday after her death.

There it is! Glad they have made arrests but check it out... those charged called themselves a "Kill Gang".

This was a "Kill Gang" in a predominantly white neighborhood hitting more than one home at a time that home invaded, robbed, raped, and murdered Amanda Blackburn and the video of the news refuses to show their pictures!

If these men have been arrested and charged then they have mug shots that are supposed to be public record, yet the news conceals their faces because of their demographic.

I want pictures of these thugs and now people need to be warned that we not only have Black Lies Matter and the Nation of Islam trying to stir blacks up to violence against whites but now we have "Kill Gangs" going into white neighborhoods and doing things like what we see in this case.

How many other Kill Gangs are at work today in America thanks to this hostile climate the biased socialists in the media are creating to destabilize America by stirring up minorities against police officers and all whites?
