Pelosi: We Must Defend The Constitution By Passing Gun Control Laws

Nancy Pelosi noted in a recent press release that it is her oath to “protect and defend” the constitution.

She said “We must uphold our oath to ‘protect and defend’ the constitution and all Americans by expanding background checks and keeping dangerous firearms out of the wrong hands.”

Many question whether she is defending the constitution or violating it. In an interview with CNSNews, director of Gun Owners for America Erich Pratt said ” “I wonder which country’s constitution she is referring to, because ours clearly makes no allowances for gun control,”

Pratt also noted the amendment that Pelosi swore to defend is meant to lessen government attempts at gun control, not a reason to enforce it.

Ironically, the idea to “protect and defend” the constitution Pelosi cited as her reason to enforce gun control is not something found in any oath she took. She is mistaken for the Oath taken by the president.

If we lived in a sane society that still valued the Constitution and actually followed its rule, politicians like Nancy Pelosi would be tried and found guilty of treason for undermining that founding document. Unfortunately we have so succumbed to liberal absurdity, Ms Pelosi can say that to "protect and defend" the Constitution we need to pass stricter gun control measures and hardly a politician or media pundit bats an eye.

Don't think that gun control efforts are dead, they are not. They are just simply lying dormant until wicked people such as Pelosi see an opportunity to strike and condition the low-information voter with verbal doublespeak such as, "We must uphold our oath to ‘protect and defend’ the constitution and all Americans by expanding background checks and keeping dangerous firearms out of the wrong hands.” Unfortunately, many people listen to a statement such as that and actually believe it. That is what the treacherous and power hungry Ms Pelosi is hoping for.

Sadly, Ms Pelosi, like a typical liberal opportunist, used the 1 year anniversary of the Aurora theater shooting to speak about her radically unconstitutional agenda. The ruling elite will stop at nothing to take away our rights and grab more power.

In a press release marking the one-year anniversary of the Aurora, Colorado shootings, the former Speaker of the House said: “In Congress, there can be no more fitting memorial to the lives lost in Aurora, in Newtown, and across the country than a concerted effort to enact commonsense gun safety legislation.
