Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump are tied across 13 battleground states, a new poll released Sunday shows.

The CBS News Battleground Tracker Poll shows Clinton, the Democratic presidential nominee, and her Republican rival tied at 42 percent apiece.

The same poll gave Clinton a 1-point advantage last week. She was up by 2 points over Labor Day weekend.

Meanwhile, 55 percent of battleground voters want to see "big changes" in politics and the economy in the next few years, while 43 percent want "some change," and 2 percent think everything is fine.

Forty-seven percent of voters in those states feel that Trump could bring change, compared with the 20 percent that think Clinton could.

Clinton has an advantage, 47 percent to 39 percent, in being seen as someone who could handle the job of being president "day-to-day."

The poll also shows voters have negative outlooks on what may happen if the other side wins.

Eighty-six percent of Democrats say the U.S. would be "damaged beyond repair" if Trump wins, while 83 percent of Republicans think the same would happen if Clinton wins.

The poll was conducted among 4,202 registered voters in North Carolina, Pennsylvania, Arizona, Colorado, Florida, Georgia, Iowa, Michigan, New Hampshire, Nevada, Ohio, Virginia and Wisconsin.

The margin of error is 1.9 percentage points.
