Of course Fox News isn't fair and balanced, but neither are any of the other "news" agencies. Every "news" agency has an agenda; the difference here is, Fox News is one of the very few major "news" agencies that leans to the right on the political scale, and why it's the target of such Presidential heartburn. It's one of the few major "news" services asking questions that the President isn't willing or able to answer.
Now, is it "wrong" that "news" agencies are anything but fair and balanced? No, so long as you realize that, as part of understanding where each "news" agency is coming from and why it writes news stories a particular way, and why each one deliberately ignores some stories.
BTY I say this as, at one time, a journalism major in my undergraduate days. I only lasted part of a semester before realizing that I couldn't deal with the college version of journalism, not only because I couldn't "write down" to the 8th grade reading level required by my instructor (I was an English major before this and was taught to write at or above college reading level), but because I was the only conservative in the room, and couldn't deal with the overt liberalism the instructor tried to indoctrinate me with.

increasing popularity of FoxNews
In the case of the increase in popularity of FoxNews and other conservative news providers, I get the feeling (and I admit, I could be wrong on this) that people are becoming increasingly unsatisfies with Pres. Obama's non-answers and the sycophantic "reporting" of CNN/MSNBC/et al that they're turning to other sources who're not only asking the Executive and Legislative branches uncomfortable questions, but who're actually coming up with some answers.
FoxNews isn't just refusing to drink the Kool-aide, it's asking what's in the stuff and why anybody would want to join the drinking party.
